A.,
There are two (actually three) that I would recommend. One is Jay Robb's Whey Protein in Vanilla and the other is Essential Natural Whey Protein in Vanilla Cake flavor. Soy is a highly allergic ingredient for most people and really isn't the health food people think it is, so it would do you good to just stay away. (only the fermented products of soy, like miso are healthful).
Both of these protein powders do not contain any artificial sweeteners like Splenda or Nutrasweet (Aspartame) with are neurotoxic and have shown to cause cancer and other nasty side effects. MOst protein powders on the market today contain up to 3 different artificial sweeteners--hey we're trying to be healthy here right!! The best one that I recommend though is from www.mercola.com and it's called Pro-Optimal Whey Protein. Read about it and I think you'll agree--and it tastes absolutely fantastic--even without adding any extra fruit! Hope this helps.
Here's our families favorite receipe:
5-8 oz of your favorite FROZEN fruit
8 oz of water (rice or almond milk is great too)
1 capful of REAL vanilla
1 packet NOW Brand Stevia Balance (no-cal natural sweetener with added inulin fiber and chromium)
1 serving (depends on the Whey protein you choose) of the Whey protein
Put into a blender and blend until smooth and ENJOY!
Be sure to use the frozen fruit (we like mixed berries) because it makes it cold and frothy, just like the smoothies you get at Smoothie Factory. Also, there's no added dairy, especially skim milk which is very high in sugar and higly inflammatory (can cause any pain you're suffering from to become worse, even headaches) But, that's another subject... :-) Email me personally with any questions ____@____.com
