I was wondering what other moms feel about getting a baby girl's ears pierced. I am asking for one of my friends. She is considering it. What are the pros/cons of doing it around 12 weeks and where should she go to get it done if she decides to?

if you are going to do it, do it sooner than later...less risk of infection. when you wait their hands are dirty and they touch their ears with little grubby hands!
I made my daughter wait till her 13th birthday so it would be really special. She was the last of her friends to do it, but it was pretty momentous for her. Also it teaches them to WAIT for things. You asked for pros and cons, so there's my con. (Now she's 15 and bugging me to let her get her bellybutton pierced. My instinct on that one says 18.)
either do it as a baby so you can keep them nice and clean. Or wait till they are teenagers so you know they'll keep 'em clean.
I got my daughter's done when she was about 3 months old and she didn't even cry when it was done.
In response to the 15 yr old belly button piercing. Many places won't even do it on anyone under 18, they are still growing and getting it pierced too young can lead to complications as they grow.
