I wouldn't buy any expensive product. I would go to the doctor and have bloodwork done to determine if you're in need of hormones or have thyroid problems. Many women your age have hormone deficiencies that cause hair loss.

NO. Hair loss is not about what product you put on the hair. It's an internal problem due to a variety of possible causes, including thyroid disease but also others. Nothing topical is going to work.

Nope, never heard of it.
Losing hair might be a health or a nutrition problem.
Sometimes it's due to accumulated damage of what you put your hair through (frequent dyes, perms, heat curling/straightening, etc).
And there's a genetic component - some people just have thin hair.
It's a good idea to have your doctor check you over - hypothyroid can cause hair problems (brittle, easy to break and slow to grow).

Reasons for losing hair:

Postpartum hair loss (about 3 months)
Hypothyroid (have your thyroid checked)
Genetics
Alopecia
Stress

Unfortunately, unless it's due to breakage and hair products, nothing topical will solve a thinning hair problem. Rogaine does help, minimally. It's best for guys really.

I would start by having your thyroid checked, and take a biotin supplement. You could try taking a collagen supplement.

If you just had a baby, your hair will regrow.

Its an internal health issue. Some people swear that rubbing onion juice on the scalp will heal the follicle if it is permanently not regrowing a hair out of it (balding.) You can help thinning hair by getting your hormones right. The way you eat can help. My daughter went almost vegan, lots of raw foods, ..her hair went from a broken frizzy mess to growing out real nice now. Lugols iodine is said to help with hypothyroidism. The thyroid needs iodine to make thyroid hormone.
