My pediatrician recommends BioGaia. We have to ask for it from the pharmacy at CVS, but it is small and chewable.

B.,
I can't remember what we buy for my son. (It's in a white tub with a yellow lid. I do know that!!) I encourage you to visit a health foods store in the area. Whole Foods or Sprouts will have them, as well as vitamin stores. I buy ours from Sprouts. If you happen to live close to one, they are also having a vitamin sale until Wednesday. 25% off all vitamins!! Of course, that includes probiotics. You can get any brand, but you want to get them from the refrigerated vitamin section. They come in powder form, and are specifically for little ones. The shelf stable ones, just aren't as good. Good luck!!

My pediatrician recommends Culturelle. You can buy it at any drugstore.

Do you have a Whole Foods near you? Or something like it? We have tons of them here, so when my infant/toddler was on antibiotics, which she was a lot her first two years, I put the powder form of probiotics in her bottle or milk cup. It is a basic vitamin-sized container, and it's called Baby Acidopholous/Jarrodopholus (I know, it looks like gibberish but I do know that is the name!). You just measure out a tsp and put it in; it's tasteless. I think there are also chewable kinds for kids, but for a 1-year old that might not work. Good luck!

Klaire Labs has probiotics safe for infants - even newborns (whose immune systems are not yet developed).

I do not know about a one-year old.
For a one year-old, you may need the infant drops. But at one, their immune system is already much more developed, but I would call the company or ask a doctor before giving anything stronger than the lactobacillus.

Culturelle. It's a powder form that you can mix with clear liquid or sprinkle on food. It is also the only probiotic proven to help with upset bellys from antibiotics. I just started using this for my 15 month old. My 3 year old has constipation issues so I have used the chewable BioGaia, and now am using a liquid drop form. Talk to your Doc. and ask for samples. I have gotten samples of all of these.

Jarrow formulas has a great one called Baby's Jarro-dophilus. You can mix it in formula or breast milk. Hope this helps!

There is a probiotic called Florajen4kids. Safe for infants and children. It comes in a capsule, but you can open it and mix the powder in with a drink. We buy it in the refrigerated section at Walgreens.
