Are there any Charter or Private Schools (non-religious) in McHenry County or Northern Illinois?!
I'm not sure how close you are, but we have friend's whose daughter goes to Lake Forrest Academy and loves it.
Montessori school k-8 and a Waldorf preschool -grade 8 ###-###-####.

I do know of Lake Forest Country Day School, North Shore Country Day School, and also Prairie Crossing Charter School in Grayslake (http://www.prairiecrossingcharterschool.org/). However, if you're in Crystal Lake, you might want to check out Cambridge Lakes Charter School (http://www.cambridgelakescharterschool.org/) in Pingree Grove.
Elgin Academy. But that might be a bit far away for you.
There's Quest Academy in Palatine.
