DON'T HEAT LAMINATE THEM!!!! Sono photos are often printed using thermal paper (that flimsy paper on a roll) and laminating them (using heat like at Kinkos or with a home machine) could completely ruin them by making them go compleelty black. THe laminating paper that they sell to be used without a machine (it is just sticky clear paper) should be ok though. Good luck!

Hi Wanda, I put mine in a ziplock bag and taped the bag into the baby book. It's been almost 10 years now and they still look great!

You can go to the kodak booth at WalMart and photocopy them - then you can do whatever you want to do with them!

My husband scans all of ours into the computer so they look just like digital photos. And we can always print them through walgreens or on our own photo printer. Any decent printer with scanning capabilities should do.
Peel and stick laminating kits may work, but BE CAREFUL laminating them in the heat laminating machines, some sonograms are on heat sensitive paper that will be damaged (like concert tickets that turn black when left in the sun, or receipts that fade over time).
Hope this helps!

You can also take them to someone who can transfer them on to video. I am taking my sonogram video and having it put on DVD and they will also put the picture on it as well.

Scan them into your computer. Works beautifully. We did this with our grandchildren. If you don't have a scanner ask around, someone you know probably has one. Once in a computer, if you have a CD burner, you can put them on a CD and keep them forever.

If you have a scanner, scan them into the computer. We did that with a lot of ours. You'll definitely want to do something because even after 2 years, our yougest's sono pics are already fading.

Hi Wanda,
We got laminating paper at office depot and just placed the self laminating sheet over the pictures. Then we cut it close and used another piece to laminate them into the baby book. Hope this helps.

Your best bet is to scan the picture into your computers hard drive and then print it out on good quality photo paper. Alternatively, you can take a picture of the picture with a digital camera.

Hi Wanda,
i learned the hard way that laminating doesnt work. I wished I had made a xerox/photo copy of it first. That's for starters anyway until you figure out what to do with it. The sonogram photo will begin to fade quickly so do not put it off.

the places that do the 3 D sono's , the non diagnostic ones, sell frames to put theirs in. Try calling and see if theirs would work

Putting the original in a frame will not "preserve" it, only protect it. Of course scanning would keep in on your computer or disk forever. I used a protectant spray on the originals for my baby books. (I also used the spray over the photos and original hospital footprints) This was a recommendations by a professional photographer, since I had the same question. I bought it at Home Depot and comes in a spray can. It takes some practice putting it on evenly, so try it on something else first and the fumes are bad, so has to be done outside.

2 Ideas. take them and have them copied at Kinkos and scan them into your computer and save them to a disc. You can also then have them printed on photo paper.

I purchased a frame at Babies R Us for both my girl's sonogram pics. The frame has a space for the picture as well as a sweet little poem and a space to write the date of the sonogram and due date. I think it was $20.
