Every year I battle with what to get my dad, so thought that maybe you could give me some fresh ideas!

A little about him – he recently retired (less than a year ago) is active, but doesn’t play any specific sports. He is BIG on alternative medicine (last years big hit was a book about eating according to your blood type). My cousin got him a juicer and that was a HUGE hit (wish I had thought of that!). He really doesn't need clothes... since retirement he is well stocked with clothing.

Any ideas? I prefer to stay away from gift certificates if I can... Thanks in advance for any and all suggestions! :)

What can I do next?

So What Happened?

Thank you all! I found a book called "Herbs for Health and Healing" so I think I will get him that along with the herb starter kit that was suggested. The other ideas I will keep for the future! Thank you everyone :O)

How about an herb garden starter kit or begin one at home in a large container and give that to him.

We are fortunate to have many granparents to shop for in our family. One year we got all of them a digital thermometer and installed it for them. We found some with larger print so it was easily read. It's the kinds that tells you the temp outside, in the room and a prediction of future weather. Everyone one of them comments on helpful it is and we bought them three or four years ago.

Just be careful you don't get the herb garden with the little tiny pods and the overhanging grow light. We bought one that looked really nice- silver smooth shape... and it didn't work at all. You can have ours for free!

What about an "Edible Arrangement or a fruit of the month club? You could do a gift pass to a museum or aviary. How about a mini herb garden, Herb & Tea basket, air purifier or a Healthy cook book (since he has more time on his hands to make his meals).
Good Luck

What about a very nice photo book (Costco and snap fish make them). You can put all family members. Another idea is a photo calendar, also from Costco. You can make it as personalized as you would like. You can include different photos as well as birthdays, anniversaries, etc.

Good luck!

Since he appears to be big on alternative medicine and loved the juicer, sounds like he cares about what he puts in his body. How about things that he can put on his body that are pure, safe, and beneficial? Some anti-aging items perhaps? Be in touch and I can explain more. ____@____.com
Look forward to hearing from you, I.
