Preschools in New Braunfels

We are moving to New Braunfels at the end of May, and have registered my son at St. Paul's Lutheran Day School. We may also register him at Saints Peter & Paul. I really liked both schools; I am a little concerned, though, about putting him into Sts. Peter & Paul, which is a more structured, school-type environment, when he'll just be turning 4. I would welcome any information or experiences anyone has had with either school. Thanks!

My twins are enrolled at Through A Childs Eyes. They were voted the best daycare last year. For the 4 and 5 year olds that are about to begin Kindergarten, they have a school based curriculum that they use to begin teaching the kids the beginning basics that they will need to enter into Kindgarten with. My kids are in Kindergarten now and had no problems adjusting and learning. The whole staff is very friendly as well.

The first united methodist day school is really good. See Etoyle McKee. Shes the director. Both of my kids went there from MDO to Kinder. Its a good school..

There are differences in preschools and I have found that Preschools accredited by NAEYC, are not as structured as "Academies." They follow very tough guidelines and have really researched they development of young children. Their philosophy is children learn best through play and hands on. My children attend a preschool in Schertz and I have been very pleased. To me, it doesn't really seem like a classroom so much as a playroom and my children love to go. They learn so much without realizing it. They also make sure their growing and learning is well rounded. Not just academically, but socially and creative. When we move I will look for another NAEYC preschool. You can look up schools on their website, just google NAEYC.

We are enrolling our 3 yr old in i Cento school - you may want to check them out. They're at 1600 River Rd, and you can call them at ###-###-#### to set up a tour. It's not a religious-based school, and they cover a wide age range in a less-structured teaching environment (the Reggio Emilia approach, which has similarities to Montessori).
