VM,
It's the excess fiber and salads she is getting that is causing the rabbit droppings (lol) . You are adding water, so she seems fine to me. I would think constipated/dehydrated, but if she has water, then maybe try juice.
ok my one child has normal poops and the other poops little rabbit droppings. The one with the rabbit poo is the one that eats an apple everyday and loves salads etc. So i would think she is getting enough fiber. She doesn't like milk so i only require about 3 oz at dinner only because hubby insists, and i push water all i can throughout the day. How much should i worry about this?? Is thier anything else i need to be doing? could this be a sign of something else.
OH!!!!
i'm glad i asked, i though the roughage from the apples and salad were a good thing, well i mean they are but i didn't realize they were slowing things down. ok, that helps alot.

Apples are binding. For diarrhea you feed them no juice and the BRATY diet
Bananas
Rice
Apples
Toast (any bread)
Yogurt
You're actually making it worse. For fiber, us juicier fruits like peaches and plums and melon. Apple juice is a laxative, apples themselves are binding.
My daughter has had poopy problems since she was 6 months old and is now almost 3. She had taken Rx meds for over a year and a half of her little life with hardly any relief. She'd only go once every 3-4 days and struggle for sometimes more than a half hour. She'd cry and push and push until sometimes she would throw up from pushing so hard. It was the worste thing ever! I have recently solved her problem completelyj with ...Activia. One of these yogurts a day and she regularly goes if not every day than every other and it only takes a few minutes without any crying, screaming, or struggling. No more medicine! I was so shocked and amazed at how great it works I started giving a little to my 7 month old who started presenting the same initial symptoms...and it solved his issues as well.
Hi, V.M.
She may need friendly bacteria age appropriate and vit c tabs for children.
Hyland Vit c 5 mg tabs will help soften the poo.
Look into your local health food store for these products. If you can't find them call The Heritage Store in Virginia Beach, VA
If this doesn't help, contact your ped.
Good luck. D.
I am not positive but I think apples can be binding. I think applesauce is part of the BRAT diet which is for diarrhea. Will she eat raisins, grapes, cantaloupe? I know those fruits can help with constipation. If she eats a lot of cheese that can also be constipating. I would ask the doctor what other things you could be feeding her to help her go more normal. I don't think it is anything serious if she has a good appetite, and good spirits. Some people have a lazy bowel and a slower system.
Try giving her juices that are more fiberous, like grape juice, plum juice, or prune juice.
A child's poop has a lot to do with what they eat. If the 2 children have very different diets, different poops are completely normal. Also, as long as they are regular and the child isn't in pain when they go, you shouldn't have to worry! If they do struggle, you may want to look into trying a little apple juice in the morning.
I remember seeing on Dr. Oz a while ago that the pellet-like poops are a sign of dehydration because your colon is sucking all of the water out of the feces because it can't get it anywhere else. So try giving her more water/juice (half and half) and see if that helps!
