Help! I 've been asked to do my son's preschool valentines party after 2 parents bailed out at the last minute. The party is Friday and I am not good at planning these things! I need ideas for crafts, snacks and party favors for a class of 4 year olds. Thanks!

What can I do next?

Snacks or lunch.... pick up chicken nuggets from Chick fil A... they sell it by the tray, you can even order in their website and just pick it up and in some cases they deliver. http://www.chick-fil-a.com/restlocator/orderfood.html

If that is out of budget you can make simple ham, cheese and mayo sandwiches and cut them in hearts.

You can acompany that with either fruit that you buy at the grocery store like grapes, already washed strawberries and bananas or at chicken fil a they sell also a big bowl/ tray or fruit.

Bring individual juices. one per kid.

As party favors.... you can either buy a big chocolate in hear shape, do little bags with filled with candies or a big lollipop with Valentines motif.

The home made touch, make cupcakes from the pillsbury box, with white icing and little red or heart shaped sprinklers that right niow you can find absolutely everywhere.

As Crafts.... you can go visit familyfun.com they have a lot of ideas there or stop by any Michaels and they craft kits, They have a good selection.

You can have the kids make a heart shaped card glue some little somethings, including glitter, put their names for their parents.

Hope this helps.

There are many resources on-line that are free. Family Fun is great, I use it all the time. you an also google pre-school Valentine crafts. Here are a few ideas off the top of my head:
- cut construction paper hearts out of various colors and sized. Have kids glue them together to make an animal (maybe provide a sample, but then they might all just copy what you did.)
- paint with cookie cutters/sponges
- get a plain lunch sack (red if possible), open it and tape the top closed. Use various candies to turn the lunch sack into a Valentine robot.
-

Hope some of these help.

Good morning! Here is what we are doing for my son's Valentine's party in Kider:
1. snack:sweetheart sundaes, ice cream with all the toppings that they get to make thamselves; we included some valentine candy for toppings
2. craft: they are making bookmarks and decorating cereal boxes to use as a mailbox to put all their valemtine's in; I covered all the boxes in white craft paper and we have stencils, stickers, glitter, and stick on craft foam in cute shapes
3. games: they are playing a valentine bingo the teacher has using candy hearts as bingo pieces; bean bag toss game that I had purchased for one of my kids bbay parties; and a bean bag relay where they run down the hall holding a bean bag between their knees. The parents donated 15 small prizes each from the dollar store and eack child will get to pick a prize after playing each game.
At the end of the party everyone will pass out valentine's.
Hope this helps and good luck!!

I am also doing my 4y/o's Valentines part at school Friday. Here's what we have planned. We were given a half and hour for the party. We'll have cookies , juice boxes and maybe some strawberries. We'll play "Valentines Bingo" w/ Hersheys kisses as markers(could use conversation hearts too) Afterwards, if time permits I have 2 Valentines themed stories to read. Hope that helps some. Good luck! feel free to PM me if u have any questions. :-)

At our school, there is a sign-up sheet and every parent (there are 16) brings something. Why are you responsible for all of the party planning, this should be the teacher/schools job!

We are also brining the appropriate amount of cards (without names other than my son) and they stick one in every kids Valentines bag. We are taking chips and dip… sorry if I don’t have any words of wisdom!
