Hi moms, I volunteered to help with my daughter's preschool Halloween party (mostly 3-yr olds). I'm looking for suggestions for games/activities that the kids will enjoy. Can you help me out with my "brainstorming"? Thanks, R.

What can I do next?

I run a home daycare and always buy things from Oriental Trading! But order soon so you get it in time! They have great arts & crafts and also some games. Check out their website and type in Halloween. I sometimes get ideas from their catalogs and just create it myself at home without having to spend the money!

For my sons preschool party last year (3&4yo) I got a large cardboard box(about the same length as a shoebox, but a little wider) and lined it with a garbage bag (you can also get a plastic box) I filled it with rice (you can color the rice orange too. I had the kids come to the table 2 at a time and search for candy (I hid 2 different color hershey kisses in there and told them they had to find ONLY the silver ones...I put some different colors in there) I let each kid find 4 silver kisses. I put 10 silver kisses and a bunch of another color. After each set of kids I put 8 more silver kisses in the box. The kids had a blast!
You could also do this with small trinkets (like spider rings or something) The 2 colors were the big thing b/c it kept them occupied longer
Hope this makes sense!

Hi R.,
Making Mummies is always fun with the kids. All it takes is cheap toilet paper and pairs of three year olds. Have fun!

Party stores may have a halloween version of "Pin the Tail on the Donkey" and other ideas for games. Also little ones love to craft and get messy so maybe a painting table where they can decorate mini pumpkins, or a mask making table. Bean bag toss with spooky beanbags and a halloween decorated toss goal. Have fun!

Last year we went to a halloween party and they had a tub of water with different colored apples in it. On the bottom of the apples were stickers, colors and numbers and the kids had to find the matching apples. There also was a large mat on the floor that had different halloween pictures on it. They used it for a version of twister. My daughter was almost 2 at the time and she loved it.
