Preschool for the "Summer".

Hello,

My husband and I just moved to the area and are looking into preschools. Our child will be attending Kindergarten in the new school year. We are new to the "year round" school concept as it was not offered in the state we came from. Due to the move we are looking to get our child started in a preschool, I guess midstream. Does anyone know of a preschool in the St. Peters area that continues through the "summer" and a child could start in the next week or so? I have called Vacation Station and they have a waiting list for the start of school in July... our child will have already entered Kindergarten before then. Not sure if this makes much sense. Any advice is welcome.
Thanks.

Welcome to St. Peters, A..

Good Shepherd Lutheran Church has an awesome preschool. The teachers are great and the kids love going there. I know many families who have taken their children there and were very happy with the school. The number is ###-###-####.

Welcome to St. St. Peters! My brother and his family live in the general area and ny nephew goes to Vacation station...have heard there is a wait. I have my 3 yr.old son in United Services and LOVE IT!! My 5 1/2 year old went there as well before moving on to Kindergarten. There are only two United Services...one in St. Peters and one in Dardenne Prairie...there is always a wait! Summer is usually a slower time for them and would probably be your best time to get in. The number is ###-###-####. Definitely check it out...well worth it!

It really depends on how many days you want and how much you want to spend. Most daycares have preschool type classes for kids your childs age. My daughter is 4 and will be starting pre-school in Sept-May. We signed up about a month ago and still didnt get the time slot we wanted because apparently you have to register them like a year early.....who knew? But I have learned that people consider daycare preschool for kids who are about 4 because they do a lot of class type things with them. I live about 20 minutes away from you so I dont know a name of a place, but they are everywhere. But I bet there are a lot of Mamas here that could refer you to a great place. Good luck!

You might want to try Francis Howell School district (http://www.fhsd.k12.mo.us/). I believe that they still have two schools that offer their preschool program. My oldest son attended their preschool program and we really liked it, but we found out that he needed additional help and moved him to United Services which is actually in our school district. You can also try United Services (http://www.unitedsrvcs.org/). They have preschool for children of all abilities and they integrate the children. Both of my sons attend United Services and we are very pleased with their program.
