Funny you bring that up -- I never checked the label to see if it had a stool softener but used and loved the GNC prenatals. I never had a problem with them either way.
I'll totally spare you the 'TMI' details but...
I'm wondering if anyone has a decent working knowledge of prenatal vitamins and can recommend one that does NOT have a stool softener. All the samples I got from my obstetrician have the stool softener component and, let's just say, I have no need for it and it is actually compromising my 'digestive health'.
I prefer something that is prescription but would be open-minded to suggestions as long as they aren't from a home-based business line.
ETA: Again, I'm not looking for a debate on why home-based business vitamins are better than otc/prescriptions. I'm looking for suggestions on vitamins that do not have stool softeners.

Of all the samples I received from my midwife, they too contain stool softeners. I do like the Rainbow Light OTC vitamins (also mentioned in a PP). I got mine at Jewel. It does not have a stool softener, but does have digestive enzymes and probiotics, so it may actually help you with your "digestive health." It has 800mcg of folic acid and 30mg of iron, just like many of the Rx ones, so they really are not inferior in any way. Hope you find one that works for you.
I used these from Whole Foods. As far as I know, there is no stool softener. I did have to split them in half though because I gag easily.

Call me low-tech, but I just bought the prenatal vitamins from Target. I have no idea if prescrip ones are better or not. My babies turned out ok, though I eat a pretty healthy diet anyway....
