I have 3 kids. You don't go to the store with them! You leave them at home with dad! I don't really have any advice. Just take it easy, don't stress if you can help it and line up some people to help you. Best wishes!!!!
Can anyone tell me of any websites or locations were I can find baby gear for moms of twins and also were I can find a stroller that can hold two car seats and a toddler. I have a son who was born 3 months premature; he's 15 months old now and not yet walking. Recently I found out that I am expecting twins in March. Need less to say, I don't know how I am going to handle all three of them.
I get nervous and sweaty then I start flipping out when I think about going to the grocery store with all of them...
Please help I would love any and all advice and information.
thanks
Kam

I have a friend who had a 2 year old, a 1 year old, and a new born, as well as 2 older elementary aged children. You can go shopping, its not easy, but you can. Our local Walmart has carts with one toddler seat and one carrier seat. You could strap one to you and put the others in the cart. I have 3 children and the last 2 were less than 2 years apart so I had 2 in the cart at the same time. I did go shopping by myself mostly, but I really liked when my husband would go with me. He would take the kids in one cart while I shopped with another cart. I prefer to do my own shopping because he does not always get it right or brings home extra junk, but I do sometimes give him a very specific list to pick up on the way home from work. I would suggest looking for a used triplet stroller if possible. I went to the website suggest below and almost went into price shock. Ouch!!!!!

They have a lot of items for families with multiples and some strollers not found in retail stores. I have ordered from them before and I noticed that shipping took a while but I'm in Arizona and they're based in Illinois so for you it probably wouldn't take as long since you're in-state. As far as coping with a full house, just remember to breathe, take things one day at a time, and don't be afraid to ask for help from family and friends if you start to feel overwhelmed. I don't have multiples but my boys were born 13 months apart and it was rough until I realized that it was okay to ask for assistance. I hope this helps. :)
Hi Kam,
Congratulations! I can connect with your situation. I had twin boys last march and my daugther was 18 months old at the time. Now they are 4 months and she is almost 2.
I understand the feeling of anxiety that can come over you when thinking about something as simple as taking all 3 to the store! You will definitely be able to manage that, it just takes a little time:)
For strollers- Valco Baby has a stroller that seats 2 side by side and fits a toddler seat over/above those 2 seats.
Valco baby also has another twin stroller that seats 2 side by side and is VERY narrow. It looks like a single stroller and is easy to manuever into doorways. (It is the twin ion) Now this does not have a 3rd seat.
I also heard from some friends about a brand named Joovy (or maybe spelled Joovi) that has a stroller that is a double and then there is a bar on the back for your older child to stand/ride on. It sounds like he will be just past 2 years old at the time of the twins' birth. Don't know if that is and option for you or not.
Mountain buggy has triple strollers that ride SO smoothly and are SO easy to push. BUT they don't fit into any doorways, so it's not a realistic purchase for someone who is in the city. It works just for walks to the park.
Check out these websites and also just google TWIN equipment and you will find a lot of options.
I wish you the best of luck! And again, congratulations:)

On Sept. 10th and 11th, doubleblessings is having a fall/winter resale at the dupage county fair grounds. Their website is: http://www.doubleblessingsmotc.com/resale/resale.html
You can join their club and/or just go there and buy baby items.
Congratulations! I was the same way when I found out I was pregnant with twins - At the time I had a 2 and 1/2 year old. I'm part of a group called Clusters - Mothers of Multiples - we meet every month. It's a great place to vent and get advice. You'll find your way with all of it -
I'm sure that the triplet moms could guide you about the triple stroller - we also have a sale two times a year were we sell our items, etc. I've gotten several strollers from those sales!
Your not alone and you'll be just fine !
There's a great group called Tri-City Mothers of Twins and Triplets Club (TCMOTTC). Their website is www.tcmottc.org and as a fundraiser, twice a year they do a big gigantic sale from their membership and open to the public that has gently used clothes, strollers for singles and multiples, toys, etc etc etc. While I am not a parent to any multiples, I thoroughly enjoyed the sale this last spring! The next one is September 25th at the Mooseheart Fieldhouse (on Rt. 31 right in between North Aurora and Batavia). A friend of mine has twins and a single and has really enjoyed the support that this club offers to their membership.
Good luck to you!
You can contact IOMOTC, (Illinois Organization of Mother of Twins Club) They have a listing of all clubs for multiples in Illinois. Congratulations, it will all be fine, I had twin boys who were born when my daughter was just 22 months old. Life is great. Join a twins club in your area. They are a wealth of information, suppport and guidance and you will make so many new friends. Good luck to you and your family.
First Congrats on adding to your brood. There are many groups around for moms of multiples keep looking close to you. I used to use two carts put the babies in one and pull the other for the food. Also I would send dad to the store or go by yourself in the evening. I have 5 and one due in December so I can sympathize with you in regards to freaking out . It will hard and tireing and so rewarding and fun just take a deep breath and remain calm they are only little for a short time. Good luck!

Hi Kam,
The VALCO EX TRI MODE...I have triplet girls and it is GREAT. I purchased the stroller then the attached toddler seat. I LOVE IT! I take my kids everywhere. It works...
Let me know if you need anything. I have multiples of everything :)!

I have seen a twin stroller with a seat on the back for an older child. We saw it at a mothers of multiples sale. Unfortunately, I was looking for the opposite--a stroller that would hold 1 baby and 2 toddlers. LOL Good Luck!
I was in your exact situation and I have anything you need if you want to buy it pretty cheap.
I have a double snap and go stroller with a seat/step attachment to it ( I called it my Hummer stroller).
As well as an extra car seat, two matching cribs with mattresses, two high chairs, and two bath seats.
email me if you are interested ____@____.com
It really does sound overwhelming but it is amazing what we can do as mothers.
Relax! Everything always works out! Plus, right now you need to concentrate on your pregnancy.
I also pushed one cart and pulled another for shopping, sometimes with a baby hooked to me in a sling. It works when you need it to. The sling will also work if you get a double stroller. Good luck and please relax...although I completely understand the "nervous and sweaty" part :)
If you have not already, check for a Moms of Multiples group in your area. I am mom to triplets plus one and joined when my kids were two years old. It was the best decision I have ever made. The club is a great place to get answers to the questions unique to MOMs and the support is fabulous. Most also have semi-annual resales. You can find your local group at www.nomotc.org.
Congratulations! My twins are 16 months old (14 adjusted) and I have an almost 4 year old. If you haven't checked out the multiples boards on the thebump.com it is a really good resource for any multiples question. Most of the moms also have a singleton as well so they totally understand everything you're going through. Don't worry about all the details of things like going to the store with them all. You just find a way that works for you and it's fine. My only other suggestion is make sure your car will fit 3 carseats in it. We found this one out the hard way when our twins were discharged from the NICU earlier than planned. Good luck and best wishes for a long and uneventful pregancy!!
