So I took a pregnancy test and it had a very faint positive line, but it technically had expired the in Sept., so I took another one that was in date, it also had a faint positive line, is there any way I'm not pregnant?
I went to Dollar Tree (thanks for everyone with that suggestion) and bought a couple more test for a dollar each. It came back fainter than the control line, but more than the last 2 test, and my period is about 5 days late now too. I'm taking all three positive (that came up during the correct time) as real and we have a prenatal visit scheduled for the 13th. I knew I wanted to get pregnant so I started taking prenatal vitamins a little while ago and talked with my doctor about my current medications, so we're all set there. Thank you all!! My husband I think just didn't want to get his hopes up but he started to make me think I was crazy, this made me feel much better as I want this week for the officially doctor's nod.

When I found I was pregnant the first time I took a test and it said positive. I took 3 more and they were all the same so I was really pregnant. It sounds like to me you are pregnant. See the DR and confirm it.
Good luck and I hope this is what you want.

There are tests you can get that will say "pregnant" or "not pregnant". I used one of these when I was pregnant because I had trouble with the lines on the ovulation tests. Good luck.

if there is ANY line at all, most likely you are pregnant. it is far more likely to get a false negative than a false positive. mine was faint too at first and now i am pregnant with twins good luck!

I hate to beat a dead horse, but I concur with the other ladies. Congratualtions. My last two of the four children were all very faint positives when I began to suspect I was pregnant, after another week it was very positive.
Dollar Tree sells tests for a dollar, I have used them with every child and so do my friends. It is a cheaper way for you to test if you use natural family planning or are trying to get pregnant and want to test frequently.

My doctor has always told me that any line is a line. I've had the faint lines, too...and several days later they were definitely darker. Looks like you're pregnant. Congratulations!

I have heard of a false negative but NOT a false possitive. YEAH! That was how my last one was. I came downstairs and showed my hubbie early that morning. He said he couldn't see anything. I cried and cried. He sure wished he hadn't said that. LOL! But anyway, I did many more tests and all came back a very faint possitive. The results: Kruz is now our 3rd son and a VERY active 2yr old.
Please be sure to let us all know, okay?

About 9 months ago I had the same issue. We are now expecting daughter number two to arrive by Halloween! I took 10 home tests and they all either came out very faint or negative. It took me two weeks negative urine of blood tests to get a definate positive. My best advice is to listen to your body and your instincts!
Good Luck!

My OBGYN says there is no such thing as a false positive - you're pregnant!

you're Preggers!!! to be sure, Take another test first thing in the morning. that is when your urine contains the highest concentration of the pregnancy hormones, due to sleeping through the night. the line will show up darker.
Congratulations!!!!

false positives are pretty rare, so you most likely are pregnant! If you are that curious and don't want to wait a week to take another one, you can get a blood test at the OB! Congrats!

Sounds like you're pregnant. Your doctor can do an ultrasound to be sure if the blood tests even come back iffy. That way they can also date the pregnancy in case you have any doubt of when the baby was conceived due to irregular periods, etc.

I had the same results with my second baby. From what I understand, there are no false-positives and if there is a line (even if it is very faint) you are pregnant. I ended up taking 4 different tests because the line was barely visible...I thought maybe I was seeing things. Good luck!!!

F.:
Are you late? Your hormones could be elevated for ovulation. But usually when there's a faint line the HGH (human growth hormone) is there.
The other option is to make an appointment with your OB/GYN to have a blood test taken to see what your HGH levels are.
GOOD LUCK!

Not likely, false negatives are far more common than false positives. The boxes usually say that even a very faint line means that you are preggers. I think you can assume that you ARE pregnant, unless you've been taking any kind of drug that would make you show a false positive. If you're taking anything, you can refer back to the information sheet the pharmacist gave you to see if this is one of the side effects. If not, start taking pre-natals and congratulations!

Hi F.! The same thing happened to me and then more recently to my sister and we were both very much pregnant! Your doctor should tell you to have the blood work done, and then you'll know for sure!
Best of luck!

To my knowledge there is no way you cannot be pregnant. The same thing hapened to me when i took my first one, of course, it was from the dollar store so i questioned it. I took another and the same thing happened. I called my girlfriend, who works at my doctors office, and she said it was diluted because of the fluids I had been drinking that day. She told me to take one when I first got up in the morning with my first bathroom trip. It lit up like a firecracker. Needless to say, my husband and i were so excited beacuse we had been through a previous miscarriage. They say those tests will never produce a false positive, only a flase negative.
Hope this helps,
K.

I had a very faint line with my third two summers ago. I thought there was no way I was pregnant if it was so faint, but he is 18 months old now :). If there is a very faint line, I would assume you are just very early on in the pregnancy! Congratulations!

Your pregnant!...My Dr told me you cannot get a false positive only a false negative. Faint line just means it's still quite early and the pregnancy hormone isn't that strong yet , take a test first thing I'll bet that line is much darker!!
Congratulations & I hope all goes smoothly for you.

Faint line means pregnant. The only way you are not pregnant is if you waited too long to read the test, which can result in false positives.
Faint just means the hormones haven't built up that much yet. In other words, very newly pregnant.
Either it's too early to tell (not enough hormones building up) or something is affecting your hormones. That happened to a friend who ended up not pregnant. But, she also had a lot of other health challenges. Check the following: Are you on any medication? When was your last cycle? Are you gaining weight? Are you fatigued? Are you emotionally charged? Are your breasts tender? If you answered yes to most of these, and your period is late and you're getting an ambiguous test result, schedule an appointment with your GYN for blood test to confirm immediately. Tell appt. nurse you've taken two tests with faint positive lines both times. They'll probably want to see you right away and, as a precaution, get you started on prenatals.
