Pregnancy Test - Pink Lines Vs. Blue Lines

No such thing as a false positive. You either have the pregnancy hormone, hcg, or you don't. Only way to really get a false positive is if you're on fertility treatments and have an hcg trigger shot then test too early. Now there are such things as evaporation lines (which are grey and people will think it's just a "faulty" blue) and there are chemical pregnancies (very early miscarriage). As far as the tests go, the pink dye are usually preferred because they're easier to read (less easy to mistake an evap line for a positive result when you're looking for pink lines).

I think women are so mentally stressed at the time they take these tests that they read the lines between the lines, that are between the lines on the boxes. Then they look at the light and they see some more lines, and when they tilt their heads the lines cross and form a Positive sign, and now they have to ask if its REAL or not. I am not trying to be mean, its just one line or two if its two light lines YIPPEEEE if its one line BOO or in some cases YIPPPPEEE... if you are concerned that it didnt work the first time, take it again next week, If you think your pregnant ACT like you are and PRESTO... everything shall be as it should and congrats either way. Nope. It's just the color dye whatever brand chooses to use. I have heard, though, that the Accu-Clear brand has had complaints of false positives due to obvious evaporation lines.

If you are already late on your period, dollar store pregnancy tests work just as well as the expensive ones. If you are worried about not reading the test accurately, get a digital one :-)

I always avoided those tests...Is the line there or not. So I just took the easy road and got the digital ones...No guessing...Pregnant/Not Pregnant!

Nope... not really such a thing as a false positive unless there is a recent miscarriage or the like. False negatives are more common.

Didn't know there was a difference on the color of the lines.

Anyways, mine always had blue lines.
And it was correct.
EACH time.

I've always preferred the pink tests. I'm not really sure why. Maybe something about the lines/dye crossing on the blue tests, but the dye staying separate on the pink.

When I used the blue I felt like my eyes more easily tricked me than when using the pink.

There does seem to be a potential for blue dye tests to give false positives, but from the sites I've seen, it appears to be largely due to waiting too long to read the test and confusing an evaporation line for the blue "positive" line. I've had some strange results with tests, but I couldn't tell you off the top of my head whether they were blue or pinks tests (more likely an issue of sensitivity to the hormones), just that the back and forth between positive and negative was confusing and frustrating.
