I'm not pregnant but would like to be again soon. :) I'm just wondering if anyone noticed different/milder symptoms the second time around?

Thanks!

What can I do next?

I actually noticed my symptoms a little earlier b/c I knew what to expect. You won't be surprised by anything (hopefully) and it will probably seem to go even faster than the first!

Everyone is different, but I did notice some changes between my two pregnancies. I didn't get sore breasts, morning sickness and wasn't extremely tired the second time around. I did show earlier, felt the baby move earlier and labor was a lot quicker and easier (but that's all very typical). Pregnancy and labor/delivery was a lot less stressful and more fun than scary since I'd "been there, done that." But both pregnancies were pretty easy and "textbook" without complications.

Every Pregnancy is different and its different for every woman. I am on my 4th baby, and boy was it nothing like the first 3. My first one I didnt know I was pregnant until I was 8 weeks along!! It was normal for me to be that late, and all I had was sore breasts. My second, I knew almost right away, I was so sick all the time that I ended up needing meds to help the morning sickness and ended up in the hospital with dehydration. My third was long and hard. I bled for a while during my first month with her and ended up with insulin depended gestational diabetes (i had the diabetes with the first 2 as well, but didnt need anything extra). #3 was just a roller coaster ride, she grew too big too fast, but at 38 weeks was, thankfully only 8 lbs 13 oz. This one is going very well. When I took the test, I couldnt believe it. I wasnt sick feeling, my breast didnt (and still dont) hurt and I wasnt feeling that tiredness I did the first few weeks either. I thought for sure that it was a false test or that it would be a miscarriage. I have only 7 weeks to go. I am insulin depended again, but its a much smoother time, he is growing just like he is suppose to, not too big, but not too small, at about the 60%. So its hard to say what your second will be like, or what your second one's personality will be like when they are born. Good Luck!

The one thing you will here is no 2 are alike!!!!! I have given birth to 5 although I have 7 and they were all so different, #'s 1 and 2 easy, first son induced and very big(9-9) second one born at home on the couch(didn't make it to the hospital) and only 6-6 in weight, then 9 years later went for number three and was sick from day one until the day he was delivered, number 4 was the same way but not only was I throwing up like number three I was nausous(sp) from beginning to end, plus they discovered she only had one kidney, she is fine though, I was done I couldn't handle being that sick again, but OOP's number 5 just as bad and then to top it off every test they took during the pregancy came back positive, downs, diabetic(boderline), the strep one, you name it my son might of been born with it, he wasn't he is as healthy and active as they come, but it was very frustrating. One thing you will notice earlier is the movement and braxton hicks will be more noticable, because your body already knows what it is and so so you. Good luck I would have more kids if it didn't mean that I was the one who had to be pregnant. LOL.

Hi S.,
I have 2 kids (5 yrs & 10 months) and my pregnancies were like night & day. The 2nd time around, I looked pregnant before I took a test. I'd been told I couldn't have any more biological kids so I wasn't trying to get pregnant but noticed my belly looked a bit swollen & I was so tired. I had morning sickness earlier the 2nd time around. My first baby rarely moved & the 2nd one acted as if he was trying out for the Olympics. My 1st pregnancy was fairly uncomplicated & the 2nd time I developed Gestational Diabetes.

Overall, I think it's easier the 2nd time around because you've already had a "practice run" & hopefully can expect what is to come. Good luck getting pregnant!

What I have found is everyone is different. You are probably just going to have to find out what your body does. I am 3 weeks away from delivery with my 2nd right now. My symptoms have been very close to what they were the first time around. The main differences beside how I am carrying this one are really just things that my body learned the first time around... more Braxton Hicks contractions, showing a little earlier...
I am a lot more winded and tired this time around... that could be becasue I have a 3 year old to chase around on top of being 9 months preggo, but I havn't been able to exercise and stay as active as I was with my first.
I have friends who have had the same exact symptoms every time and others who show much more extreme differences. Its really about you and your body :)
One thing I have heard is symptoms often vary if you are pregnant with the opposite sex of what you had the first time. I am interested to see what others say. But good luck with soon to be baby number 2!
