Pregancy Measurements Too Small

My friend is 32 weeks pregnant and her dr just told her the baby's 3 way measurements aren't growing proportionately (head, abdomen & femur). They are all very small and her fluid level is low. She has a 14 month old daughter and had preclampsia with her so she is scared. Has anyone else had this? I would like to reassure her but don't have any experience with this....
Thanks in advance for your response

I had low amniotic fluid with my first daughter. She was born prematurely but is now a happy, healthy 3 year old and smart as a whip. I have a friend who had a baby who had restricted growth in the womb and she had an emergency c-section at 30 weeks. Baby is fine.

this can be SO many things... she may just have a small baby, her placenta may be functioning improperly, the baby may have IUGR - the possibilities are limitless. in generaly, at 32 weeks, they'll scan via u/s more regularly and if the baby is going to get more nutrition or be better off outside the womb, they will deliver early. as long as there is "enough" fluid and "enough" growth - they will prob continue to monitor. i had extremely low fluid toward the end(past 30 weeks) of all three of my pregnancies - two were born early, and one at term(38 weeks). good luck to your friend. i guess the reassurance would be that if the dr was extremely worried, they prob would have suggested taking the baby out - but, it sounds like she is still pregnant - so just encourage her to keep up with her visits, rest a little more than she has been, and drink PLENTY of water.

My daughter had this just this past spring. She had a healthy 6 lb 1 oz boy at 39 weeks. He is 3 months now and growing BIG and is developing totally normally! And did I say CUTE! :D
