Potty Training for Three Year Old Boy

My son turns 3 on Monday, I am ready for him to not use diapers.
I know boys are slower at learning this than girls most of the time.
What are some training techniques you mama's have used? What worked, what didn't?
We have tried the "get a sticker (or a toy car, or candy or anything you want)" He could care less. We have tried the toilet, the little potty, the little potty on the big potty... he could care less. He told his Gigi that he was never going to get big so he can always wear diapers.
I am going with he is stubborn... do I just let him wear no diaper or undies and he can pee on himself? HELP!

What can I do next?

I tried everything with my daughter and it wasn't until I decided to just buy her panties and let her wear those and once or twice going in those she learned quickly that she didn't like that feeling. She was 3 and I was so happy it worked. I thought pull ups would have been the same but she went in those like a diaper, so I can only suggest to just go straight to underwear and make a big deal about them that they are for "big" boys.

One day while I was cleaning the toilet he came into the bathroom and noticed the bubbles the cleaner was leaving behind. He wanted to pee on the bubbles so I let him. Then he noticed that if he peed in the toilet he would make his own bubbles. Our son loves bubbles, and this is all it took to get him over the hill of potty training.

Someone had suggested to put a few cheerios in the toilet for him to aim at. We never did this since the bubbles worked, but it might be something to try. Good luck.

I used Potty Training in a day and bought the book and all of the accessaries. I used Potty Scotty. DS was not responding at all to potty training and I wanted him to be potty trained by three. We spent the whole day practicing and after that day, I did pull the plug on diapers and only did pull ups for naps and night time. We had accidents and he was not fully potty trained till 2 months later, but it was a great introduction to potty training and the light just went off for him! If we have another kid, I would use this system again!

My son is exactly like yours! He turned 3 in May.
He tells me he's a baby and won't use the "big boy" potty. He's in daycare, and they can't get him to use the potty either! He also sees his big brother (4) go on the potty and he tries to encourage my littlest; no go...

Does he at least ever "Sit" on the potty? Daycare just recommended that perhaps we read a book to him while he's sitting there... We'll try that next!

My son turned 3 in January and just this week crossed the milestone of being officially potty trained.
I started letting him run around naked. Granted, he never peed or pooped on the floor, so that technique may not work for everyone.
Once he was able to feel when he needed to use the potty and get there on time, we went to undies. Thing is, briefs didn't work for us b/c they must've felt like diapers to him, and he'd just go in them. So, we bought boxers. That's what worked for us.
We did sticker charts to earn for him something that he'd really really really been wanting, which was one of the Cars cakes you see at the grocery store. We downloaded the sticker chart with a 5x5 grid and put a Cars sticker in each box everytime he pooped (he was already trained for pee; we were just working on the poop). So, maybe find something that your son is dying to have and make him work for it. Maybe, by not switching from diapers, he's trying to get that one-on-one time with you that a diaper change gives him. So, maybe his reward can be going to the zoo with you or something like that.
Good luck. It's a long road, and I feel your pain!
