K.K.
You are making him clean his undies and making him stay in the bathroom 5 minutes after he has already had a bowel movement? If this is a form of punishment, I wouldn't recommend it. Positive rewards are always the best. As a mom of three, I have found that children learn to figure out their bodily functions and the feelings associated with them at different rates. One of our daughters actually had a bladder emptying study done on her and we found that she couldn't feel that she needed to go to the bathroom until her bladder was extremely full. This problem resolved as she got older. So, please, be patient with your child. Encourage him. Children don't normally wet or soil themselves to be defiant. It is an accident and a learning process and should be treated as such. Best of luck.
