My little girl just loves spiderman. We bought her spiderman undies (for boys, but who cares, right) and then every time she went on the potty, the baby sitter would call me or my husband and we pretended to be spiderman and we congratulated her with our best spiderman voices. I think this is actually part of a Dr. Phil plan. It took a while, but this was the method that worked best. I got a couple of potty videos too. I think it was Bear in The Big Blue House and Once Upon a Potty. We had to move in the middle of her potty training, so I think she backslid for a while which really made my husband and I apoplectic at the time, but in looking back, it's just laundry, so try not to get too irritated. Remembering this will certainly help YOU with the potty training. We did NOT use m&m's, sticker, rewards, etc other than praise praise praise. I think my daughter was 2 1/2 when it was all said and done. The other thing I did was launch into this big narrative when I went potty and she was in the bathroom with me. I tried to make it seem as fun and enjoyable as going to the bathroom can be. It took a great act of thespianism on my part, believe me. I agree with the advice below which says once you go to big panties, there is no going back. Also, wait for clues from your child that she is ready. Good luck.

I used the Dr. Phil method of Potty Train Your Child in a Day. Here's a link to the process: http://www.drphil.com/articles/article/264

We did this for my son (after several mom's suggested it) and to my surprise it worked. It actually took a little longer than a day, about a week to go accident free, but it still worked.

I have a 2-year-old daughter who I plan on potty training this summer (fewer things going on then to cause distractions) and I plan on using the same technique. Just make sure she's ready otherwise it won't work. You can find a checklist of "signs of readiness" at diaper websites or babycenter.com.

Good luck!

I had wonderful results potty training my son, here's what we did: I bought a training potty for Christmas when he was 1 year and 9 months old, we lived in a small apartment so I took it out of the box and set it in the hall way, At around his second birthday, he started showing signs of being ready to train when he went poop in the training potty and I didn’t even know it. I just looked in there while walking down the hall and noticed a little poopie in there. SOooo..I bought a book called "Potty train you child in just one day" Me and my mom read the book, thought "yeah, right" and followed the book exactly, that way if it didn’t work, we knew it wasn’t because of us not doing what it told us to do. There is a prep period if I remember correctly, but on the "BIG DAY" where we dedicated 1 full day to potty train him, I swear to you, he was indeed potty trained!!! I actually felt like "NO, he cant be, he was in diapers just this morning" but one word of advice given to me was "once you put them in big boy (or girl) underwear, don’t put them back in diapers" so that evening I put him in some Buzz Light-year Underwear, and he NEVER went potty or poop in his pants, It worked like a charm. I actually felt gypped, (not that it was a bad thing) but I felt like I skipped over the whole potty training experience that I see so many parents struggle over and went on to the next learning milestone. He never even peed the bed. So there is my experience, I hear Dr. Phil has a book with the same concept, Good luck.

What I did was get a book about potty training and we read it every night. My daughter was about 2 1/2 and she just decided on her own one day that she wanted to use the big toliet. So I let her. She did it herself I did no pressuring and just let her do it when she was ready. She does very good. We don't have many accidents and she is now 3. I think it took like one to two days for her to not have accidents. I feel not pressuring her was the biggest step because she figured it out all on her own. Trust me I was shocked but it worked best for us. Every baby is diffrent so good luck. I feel when she is ready she will do it. Just get a book and read it to her everyday. My daughter now reads us the book. Good Luck and let me know how it goes.

I trained my son in two days. He stayed dry day and night. I used cloth diapers for a day and he hated the feeling of being wet. The next day I put him in underwear. He had a few accidents that day but by the end of the day he know what the feeling was and went to the potty everytime. I also offered rewards such as stickers and skittles. Good luck!
