What potty chair is the best for a boy?

When did you buy it/ or start?
My son is 18 months, if I buy it now, will it just be a toy?

What can I do next?

Toys R Us had a great selection. I don't know specific brands, but find one with the biggest opening and since you have a boy, make sure it has the pee catcher - a thing that goes up in front so that you don't have to get your son to point down while on the seat.

Ikea has simple potty seats (not the ones to adjust a big toliet) for only 3.99!!! There just as good as the ones anywhere else for a fraction of the price.

baby bjorn potty was good for my son. I didnt train him till he was 3yrs old and it only took 3 days. If you start now it might take 1-1/2 years :) Good luck

We just bought a generic character seat from Target and they have the pee catcher thing included. My daughter trained at 18 mos no problems, and my son could have cared less until 2 weeks ago. He is 2 1/2. It took him 3 days and we have been dry ever since. But always remember poop training comes later for whatever reason?!? Good Luck. At this time I would just try every so often to sit him on it and if he goes YEAH, if not oh well good trying and see how he does. He may or may not take a liking to being a big boy.
