HI, what is a surefire way to remove poop stains off baby clothes? Once in a while my nearly 6-month old would have a blowout and would stain her clothes, and I would hate to have all of her clothes have unremovable stains!

Let it soak in the sink with lots of Oxi Clean for a day and then wash. Oxi Clean gets out all the stains my kids get.

My son had stomach issues and would have blow outs all the time. I would take his soiled clothes and spray them down with Simple Green and water in the sink. I would scrub it all out with a little finger nail scrubber. It always worked like a charm and it didn't ruin any more clothes. Hope this helps!!! Good luck!!

Hi A.,

There is a great product you can get a Petco that will work on those stains. Natures Miracle detergent and also the stain and odor remover work very well. Good Luck.

The sun! I wouldn't have believed this if I didn't do it all the time with my own baby. It is amazing. It works even if you've already put your clothes through the washer and dryer. All you need to do is make sure the item is very wet. Place on a drying rack in the sun and leave outside until dry. The stains literally disappear. If you still have a spot there, re-wet the item and put it outside again. It is the best for baby poop. Good luck!

WOW! I learned some new tips from reading the other mom's advice, below!
What I wanted to add is that old rule which is:
HOT water to remove poop, and
COLD water to remove blood (Hot water SETS a blood stain forever).
THE SOONER THE BETTER!
Never let it sit if you can help it, but get it right away. If you do have to wait, then the HOT water STILL helps to remove it quicker, with the other agents added helping even more. I have found any kind of detergent, hand soap, with hydrogen peroxide, etc helps to speed it up, as long as you use hot water with it. But now I will try the others, too! Thanks for asking - It helps ALL of us!!!

I would spray the stain with spray and wash and/or Clorox 2, which now comes in an unscented formula. I addClorox 2 to all my loads of laundry and think it does a great job.

I also like the suggestion for putting the clothes out in the sun. I've used la lemon cut in half and salt rubbing over other kinds of stains and left them in the sun to dry and have had good luck, though I've never tried that on poop stains before.

Good Luck,
Linda

Both my boys did the same thing. Spray n Wash worked every time. I just sprayed both sides of the stain and depending on the size of the stain I would sometimes let it sit over night then wash it in cold water. I even had to use it on my clothes a couple time after major blowouts. Good luck!

OxyClean Laundry spray. I immediately spray the stain, toss clothes in the laundry basket, and wash whenever basket is full. Works PERFECTLY!

I havent had my clothes stained yet but I do knot that with cloth diapers if you put them in the sun the stain disappears. I think when we have a tough poop stain i might try this for a few hours and see what happens. if the clothes are already ruined it cant hurt and it is free to try it.

I swear by clorox 2 which is safe for colors and is not hard on clothing. I would let it soak in cold water and clorox 2 and then put some clorox 2 directly on the stain and scrub. Good luck!

Soak in Oxyclean and a good laundry detergent (like unscented ALL or unscented Kirkland, not Dreft!) overnight or until the stains disappear. For me, 10 year old stains on hand-me-downs have even disappeared. Oxyclean has saved so many of my baby's clothes.

OvyClean in a bucket to soak the affected clothes. Sometimes it takes a day or two but they always came out for me. If it was a particularly bad stain, I'd let it soak for a while then scrub the stained fabric against itself to help remove the stain.

In addition to removing poo stains, this also saved a good portion of my wardrobe when I left a red Sharpie marker clipped to a shirt once. I soaked everything for about a week and it all came out. Good luck.

Hi A.... find someone that sells Amway products and get a product called tryzyme. It will take out all kinds of things and not hurt the clothes. Spitup stains are some of the worst. You just use a little and soak them, it works great in combination with their soap but we've used tryzyme for over 20 years... great product. You should be able to find someone in the phone book.
