Hey Mamas,

My baby is now 1 and usually still nurses 3-4 times a day but still night nurses quite a bit. I'm noticing my milk supply is decreasing and it's affecting the baby during the night. He gets very frustrated when theres nothing coming out and I feel very empty by the time the morning comes. How can I increase my milk supply since I know he's not ready to stop nursing yet. I still drink LOTS of water, take my vitamin and get extra calories but what else can I do?
Also, what's the best way to introduce cows milk? Warm or cold? I've tried both and so far he won't drink it at all! He will drink juice from a cup but not his milk. TIA for any helpful advice.

What can I do next?

Mother's milk tea is better than any of the other stuff. I've heard there's a mother's milk tonic that's even better, but I don't know where to get it.

Cow's milk: Just give it to him. He'll likely wean himself though because there's a lot more fat in cow's milk than your breastmilk after 1 year. I gave it to mine cold, and he loved it. He weaned himself on his 1st birthday, which was so hard for me, but it worked. I think just continue to try the cow's milk until he finally tries it.

V.,
Maybe this is a good time to wean him; the only reason I say this is because I kept telling myself after a year I was going to stop, well, he's 2 1/2 and it's harder now than when he was 1. Now it's harder than ever to stop, he understands and gets so angry. Maybe you could tell your son he's drinking all the milk up in mommy...

I think your body sometimes will just start to dry up any way...
I had to introduce chocolate and strawberry milk for my kids to start drinking it...
Good Luck, I'm sorry I'm not much of help,

Oatmeal, mothers milk teas, fenngreek and fennel, aswell as more fluids, or even sometimes drinking an unfiltered beer like bluemoon, or hoegarden is said to help with supply and let down.

Amen to Melanie. All I can say is perhaps upping his daily food and fluid intake. You could also try pumping (or feeding the baby) at 2 a.m. (yes, it is a magical number) to up your supply.
