try going to Meetup.com
look under the category of mom's groups (or something like that) to see if there is a group in your area.
i belong to the one in my area, and it is wonderful.
You could also try http://www.socialtoddler.com to find playgroups and meet parents in your area.
Check out meetup.com and search for mom's groups in your area. :)

I am also in Mansfield with a 2 yr. old daughter.I've heard that the Mansfield Moms Club offers playgroups for its members.The town's recreation dept. runs a great weekly parent/child class called "Kids Workshop".If you'd like to meet up at a playground email me.I've also been looking for a playgroup for my daughter.
