Help!!!!!!! Why I have drawn a blank is beyond me. I need to make playdough. I used to have a booklet of playdough projects but I can't find them. I know I had one that involved no cooking but I can't think of it. If anyone has a recipe, I would really appreciate it.

First, here is a basic recipe:

3 c flour
1 1/2 c salt
2 TBS cream of tartar
1/23 TBS oil
3 C water with food coloring

Mix well and cook overlow heat until dough forms a ball.

If you like, use plain water and then knead in jello after it forms a ball. The jello will give it a light color and a wonderful scent.

Second, here is a recipe for fingerpaint

1/4 C cornstarch
2 C water
Food colorin

1. Combine water and cornstarch.
2. Bring to boiling. Stir constantly. Boil until thickened.
3. Allow to cool.
4. Add desired color and mix.

Third, THE most amazing book for moms is called "Recipes for Art and Craft Materials" by Helen Roney Sattler. It has recipes for pastes, glues, modeling compounds, paper mache', casting compounds, paints, paint mediums, inks, flower preservatives and more. My favorite is the recipe for Dry Lint Clay. I've yet to collect enough lint to make it but doesn't that sound crazy?
