Have you tried using eyebrow twizzers the type of twizzers that look like sissors. You can find them in any drug store. There smaller tips so you can see what you'er doing and you have more control with them.
Help! My son stuck playdoh in his ear at daycare. We got as much as possible out, but there is still just a little left deep inside (where we can still see). Does anyone have any ideas how to get this out (he is nearly 3 years old)? Thanks for any suggestions in advance!!

take him to the pediatrician, they'll tell you its too dangerous for you to do so, so let them do it.
Please take him to the doctors. They will get all of it out, probably by flushing it out with warm water. This does not hurt, so my daughter says.
Hope all turns out okey.
DO NOT USE TWEEZERS WHAT EVER YOU DO!! Take him to his doctors office or to the ER so they can flush out his ear. Make sure you don't stick anything else in there because you can push the playdoh in deeper and make it harder to get out. Let us know what happens.
Never ever ever try to get anything out of a child's ear on your own!! Please go to the ER or your pediatrician and have them remove it. There may be some deeper in you can't see and you are just pushing it further back inside without knowing it.

Go to an ENT- OTOLARYNGOLOGIST. (EAR NOSRE AND THROAT SPECIALIST) Do not go to the Ped OR to the ER. An ENT is specialized in that area. If you are in the Indy area, Call Dr. James Milligan, at Community North. He wil get you in the same day, if you call and tell them your circumstances.

Kids are hilarious! My son got a pea stuck in his nose once. Thank goodness it was at my parent's house at a Sunday dinner, and my dad was a doctor.
You can try having him lie on the side opposite the effected ear. Dribble 2 or 3 drops of hydrogen peroxide into his ear, and let it sit for 5 minutes or so. Tell him that he will hear it bubbling, and that it's really a neat sound. The bubbling action of the peroxide should help to loosen the PlayDoh so it will come out easily. This way, you are not poking or prodding into his ear, but using tools that will help to lift the PlayDoh out of his ear on its own.
If you have a nasal aspirator or other bulb syringe, you can fill it with warm water and use it to rinse his ear.
Of course, this is probably what they'll do at the doctor's office, but with a more high powered syringe. Docs are also excellent at convincing children to accept treatment. Probably because they aren't the parents, and the children feel like they should behave. ;-D
Good luck! I know it will all turn out well.
A., I have worked for an ENT (EARS, NOSE, THROAT)Doctor and Pediatrics unit at a hospital. I have seen alot of cases of young children stick foreign objects in their nose, ears mouth etc... you get the jest. I would suggest taking your son to his Pediatrician. Alot of times when we as parents try to handle situations on our own it isn't always in the best interest of our children. If you have removed the majority of playdouh that you can see with the naked eye. Sometimes a foriegn object or substance will lodge into the canal of the ear that you can only see with a scope. This can cause bacteria which could lead to otis media a infection of the ear drum. The symptoms of that are usually high fever and running nose. I would suggest that you do not try to flush it out yourself. Our bodies produce a natural ear wax to protect the inner ear, but if something is blocking this process you could end up having a child with a terrible earache. If your Pediatrician uses the ear scope he/she should be able to tell if it can be removed or if you would need to seek a specialist. Good Luck, I think we all can attest to a pea or Barbie shoe that went in an opening that it shouldn't go in. Let me know how it turns out.

You need to go to the doctor. You should not try to get it out yourself as you might push some further in the ear or rupture their ear drum.
Hey A.! Our pediatrician has us pour 1/2 peroxide and 1/2 water solution in my girls ears at bath time to help break down the wax. If it breaks down wax surely it can help break down the playdough! Good luck!
By this time I hope this issue is resolved, however, if not, DO NOT CONTINUE TO TRY TO GET IT OUT ON YOUR OWN. Go to his primary care provider or to the ER.
