Sorry I know nothing about the resale shop. What is up with the moms2moms sale. I am thinking about doing one next week. Is it a pain in the ___?
Anyone sold at Platos closet? Were you happy with what they paid for your clothing?
I have so much stuff that my son outgrew (alot with tags still on them) just wondering if I would be better off listing them for sale on craigslist. No more mom2mom sales for me...
Thanks Everyone, I decided to sell on craiglist. Update: I was unable to sell on craigslist so I went to the Rip off closet in SCS. What a joke they wanted to give me $20.00 for 12 items (designer mens clothing at that!!!) Wish I had time to do ebay!

Hi M.,
I have never been to Plato's Closet, but I did take a ton of stuff to Children's Orchard once and left there feeling raped. Since you're not in there with them while they're rifling through your belongings, you really have no idea what they take because they throw it all into sorting bins under a table - giving you no real idea whether you're getting screwed or not. I didn't find out how much they had actually taken from me until I got back home, resorted the mess they had left me with, and checked it against a list I had made. If Plato's Closet is anything like that place, I say NO - DON'T DO IT! Put them in lots & sell them on Craigslist or Cheapcycle instead. You'll be ahead of the game! Best of luck to you!

Hi M.,
My daughters took their things there a couple times and left both times so disgusted and disappointed at what they were offered that they haven't been back.
I've had great success selling clothing on EBay, especially with tags on them and most especially the designer names that Plato's Closet looks for.
Good Luck

What sizes I am in need of clothing for my son? I live in St. Clair Shores. Also not sure about Platos but I do know of a consignment shop that is very fair at 15 & Utica. If you are interested in hearing more let me know!! Thanks R.
I have used Plato's Closet several times and I am generally pleased. I would go inside and check with them on the stores rules. Most will not take items in garbage bags. They will limit how much you can bring per visit and sometimes they can tell you what they are in need of versus what they have too much of.
They give you a percentage of what they will sell it for, so it will also help if you walk around the store to get an idea of how much most items are priced.
just my experience, although i have heard the same from others....i took a big garbage bag full there and they bought two pair of jeans. i was pretty disappointed with that. but you never know, they may buy more from you.
