Plastic Jars with Lids??

I am looking for plastic jars that will fit regular mouth size jar lids (like a peanut butter jar). I have looked online and everything I have found is crazy expensive to ship through wholesale type companies or on etsy and comes with lids (which I have). I'm hoping to spend around $1 a jar.

So, short of eating peanut butter by the gallon for the next few weeks, have you seen these anywhere?

Thanks!!

EDIT: I'm essentially looking for a plastic pint size mason jar that I can use for kids that will fit a regular jar lid (which is the hangup)

What can I do next?

Are you talking about a storage jar, that is about the size of a peanut butter jar? Without a lid, because you have a lid? I'm a little confused. But if you need a storage jar, I have seen plastic ones at the grocery stores, and they are usually clear with a white lid, and I see them near where they sell the baking sheets, and the utensils.

What about posting an ad on Craigslist? Or do your kids go to day care or any type of school where you can post a sign asking parents to save their empty containers for you (like some teachers do when they know their students have a younger sibling with baby food jars :-) )

Reach out to those you know and see if you can come up with what you need.

Now, curious minds want to know, I am sure - what are you using all of these for?? :-D

Flaming Turnip is talking about Freecycle. I've had good luck here with Freecycle Portland... it's worth a try. You just have to join the yahoo group.

Good luck in your search!

I just searched amazon with clear plastic jars with lids and got a ton of hits in assorted sizes.

I can't remember the site but there is also a site where people post free to a good home.

I bought small plastic jars in the home canning section of the grocery store - maybe they also have the size you are looking for?

I think mine came with lids, though.
