As a mother who has three kids, two of them being girls. I took my oldest to a jewery store that does them when she was about 8 months old. Shortly after that she started tugging at her ears and pulled one out by mistake, I found out that she was teething. I recommend waiting until after they get their teeth in before getting the ears pierced. We are waiting for our youngest to let us know that she wants her ears to be pierced. I know my sister took her six month old to a tattoo shop that also did body piercing. I do know tattoo shops are very steril. I have never heard of pediatricians doing ear piercing. I hope this was helpful to you.

Why would you want to pierce a 6 month olds ears? A little too soon for pierced ears I think.

I would reccommend checking out body peircing shops. If this is your first child and you have no experience with managing a babie's jewelry...peircing shops make solid loop earings that they can't pull out. My friend and her husband own a shop like that and that's what they did with they're daughter. I am waiting until my girls are old enough to want to get their ears peirced or not. My personal opinion for my kids is that those ears belong to them so they get to choose. Plus, it was one of my coming of age things I got to experience when I was 13, thanks to my mom waiting. But that's one of the privileges of parenting, it's up to you. So, I just thought I'd share the info I had. If this is your first experience with jewelry on babies, you may want to wait or get more info, babies are hard enough to manage without adding more potential choking hazards and infections. Good Luck.

At that age, find a pediatrician who will do them. If your doctor won't, then ask around.

I ask my doctor they had no recommendations. I ended up taking her to the piercing pagoda in the mall. I also know someone ele who took there baby there. I think that they did a good job.
