I have always taken my girls to Kiddie Kandids for their pictures. In January they closed their doors & filed bankrupcy. I am looking for someplace to take my girls for pictures in or around the Lombard area. I like the fact that we were able to get all our pictures that same day. Anyone know of anywhere good to go? Thanks!

What can I do next?

We've been going to Sears Portrait Studios and have always been happy with their pictures. They are in the Oak Brook Mall.

I have always used Sears, in fact my mom used them when we were little too. They do offer same day pictures ( they print while you are there) or you can still order them and they send them a week a later. I have signed up on their website so I always get coupons in my email, I also get them by mail. they are always having deals. They always make my kids confortable. You see them as they are taking them on a screen, then they send them to another computer and then you can sit and go through them and pick what you want. They never rush you to pick either.

I heard JC Penny is good to, but have never been there.

My girlfriend Rose is a photographer & will come to your home or the location of your choice. I love her work & she's great with kids. We were going to do our shoot in Lilacia Park but my kids were freak'n over bees & we missed lilac season by two weeks so ended up doing it front of our home. Pictures came out beautiful!!!

I'm not sure if you like the "chain" photo studios but I liked when I didn't have to drive the kids anywhere.

Hope this helps.

This is not close to Lombard, but I have always found it worth the drive. Especially b/c the cost is so good. Portrait Innovations. Check them out online and you can see where the closest one is to you.

We love Portrait Innovations. I'm not sure what location is closest to Lombard, but they do a great job and you get the pictures you order plus a cd of the entire photo shoot before you walk out the door!

I was also disappointed that Kiddie Kandids closed. I actually had an appointment and they had to call me and say that it was closed. I have used both them and JC Penney for all of our portraits. SO, when KK closed, we went back to Penneys and I was SO glad we did!! We got the BEST portraits ever and spent the least amount of money ever on portraits. It was the Penneys in Stratford Square Mall and we did Valentine shots of my 2 girls and I love how they turned out. There are coupons online and you can get a great deal there. You have to wait 10 days for your pics, but they email them to you within 24 hours (mine were there by the time we got home).

I've always gone to Picture People in Oak Brook. They've consistently done a fantastic job! My experiences with the Picture People at Yorktown has not been a good one and I would avoid them - long waits and disinterested photographers who don't seem to want to try too hard.

I love Kiddie Kandids. I had no idea they closed. Have been going there for 6 years. Went to Picture People when my oldest was little and did not care for it at all. I wonder if they have changed. They used regular flim instead of digital (like Kiddie Kandids) and so you had to wait to see them developed and then you had to wait again to get your package. They only developed a few the first time for you to look at & pick from. You never were able to see all of the shots. More than one visit of not being able to pick from all of my pictures and I was done! If this hasn't changed, I wouldn't bother. That's what I loved about Kiddie Kandids, it was right on the screen and if you didn't like it, they deleted it and took more. Hope someone has good advice.

Portrait Innovations is great. I don't know where all their locations are. I went to the one in Lake Zurich, but try the website: portraitinnovations.com
they have a really great $9.99 package too. I was very pleased with them, I went to Sears too and did not like that experience at all.

Potrait Innovations! Check their website for locations near you. They are amazing...they take about 50 pictures and you see them and choose them immediately on a huge flat-screen t.v.. You get them withing 1/2 hour and their prices are reasonable. We've been going there for 4 years and have nothing but positive experiences and amazing pictures!
