were your periods erratic after you gave birth? .. my periods were never really "on time" even before i got pregnant. Its not like i could mark the calendar and know i would get it that day every month.. it always varried by as much as a week. I was actually shocked that i got my period exactly 5weeks to the day after having my daughter. going by the last time i had it right now im late by a good 5 days or so. The last one i got was also not "right on time" and it was weird because i had no cramps at all, if i wasnt bleeding i wouldve never known i even had it.. which was strange because the one before that was horrible!.. i should also add that the last time it came around it was slightly shorter and lighter than normal... anyone else have period issues in the months follwoing birth ?? (my daughter will be 5months old the day after christmas so its not like i just had her)... just thought id ask because its kind of concerning... i kind of figured that since i got it quickly after having my daughter that it would start being on a "normal" schedule

What can I do next?

Your body will be trying to get back "on schedule" for a little while. With my most recent baby, it was 2-3 cycles before I was back on my normal 30-32 day cycle. Those 2-3 initial cycles were about 60 days in length. No worries! :)

Mine was never normal, and was even less so after I had my son.

I was told they'd be less painful too...WRONG ANSWER!

They are more painful now than they were before.

My Sister and Mother both had different experiences, so there really isn't a normal guideline.

Hope you feel better.

I didn't get my period again till my son was a year old. And then, it took a year to get "normal" again. I'd have 24 day cycles, then 50 day cycles, then 35 day cycles - nothing predictable. Then finally it got somewhat predictable - anywhere from 25 to 35 days. Been that way for 2 years now. But man oh man did it take 2 years after my son was born to get 'normal!" I wouldn't worry if I were you.

All I know, is after having a baby, you bleed for some time. My period is never normal. Of course, I have p.o.s., on the pill, and I get my period every few months. I suggest just going to your doctor with your worries. I don't think it's too big of a deal, but if it's something you are concerned about, your doctor can help you out.
