Period Question... TMI Warning! ~Updated SWH

I have a VERY regular period. It is ALWAYS the same, down to the time of day I start. I have been that way for the past 2 years, since my system leveled out after giving birth to my DD.

This month, I am slightly worried. I started 2 weeks earlier than normal, and it was really weird. Instead of being the normal red color at the start, it was more of that gross brown that usually comes toward the end...plus it started out really slow instead of the heavy flow normally I start with. I am on day 3, and it still isn't nearly as heavy a flow as usual... like less than 1/2 the usual amount. I have also been having WAAAAAY more severe PMS symptoms than usual! Normally, I may get a headache and slightly bloaty... THIS time I have had migrane-strength headaches, severe cramps, worse bloating, and I am actually super pissy at everyone! (I NEVER get grouchy during PMS! My hubby has told me several times how lucky he is that I stay 'normal'... He's so confused this week! lol)

So... is this something I should be concerned about, or does it seem like it's just a hormonal fluctuation?

What can I do next?

So What Happened?

ETA... I forgot to add that I DID have a twin miscarriage some months ago... but I was perfectly regular before and after that... I'm not sure if that will make a difference or not...

Either way, I'm going to make an appointment to go see my gyno soon.

Went to the doctor, and nothing is amiss. Just a goofy period I guess. :) Here's hoping next month goes back to normal, I would HATE to PMS like this every month!!!

Tiffany said what I was about to say. Could be nothing (most likely is), but with my 2nd pregnancy, I started early. For some very strange reason, I decided to buy a pregnancy test. Just a whim. It was positive. I spotted brown/light pink for 10 days before I got the extreme pain and had to have emergency surgery to remove the tubal (ectopic) pregnancy.

I am NOT telling you this to freak you out, but just keep in mind that abnormal things like this should at least be discussed with your doctor.

Call your Doc! I have had PID, endometriosis, etc.. It was years ago but I didn't call until things were outta control. I don't want to alarm you by saying that but I found that the moment your period changes from it's, 'norm' it generally means something is 'up' in your body. It may be nothing but better safe than sorry!

I've had periods like that. It just happens every now & then, but unlike you, I've never been regular. If you've always been regular, I think it's worth a call to the gyno.

YIKES!!! I'm sorry!!

please call your doctor. Tell them just what you told us and how out of the norm it is for you. When was your last annual exam? If it's been over a year - tell them you need to come in and get checked out.

brown blood is old blood. Migraines with the cramps and bloating, I am wondering if you have a tubal pregnancy or if you were pregnant and miscarried. Are you on any form of birth control? Either way? Call your Ob/GYN and tell them what you told us. I would hope that it would raise a red flag for them and tell you to come in. If you are experiencing a fever, tell them that as well.

Good luck!!
