When it starts getting close to bedtime, limit his fluid intake. Also, Pull Ups are just not as absorbent as diapers. Switch to Over Nite Diapers they are a little more expensive but the pay off is not having to do laundry daily. Good Luck!

Forget night time pullups. Huggies nightime diapers in the purple package #5!!!!!!!! They keep it all in until they wake in the morning. The best! Also move a crib size pee pad under his butt once he is asleep so you don't have to pull the whole bed apart every morning to wash the sheets. Then you just have to wash the pad. Good luck!

We had the same problem with our 3 yr old, we have found Good Nites underpants for night time...the small/medium size is 38-65lbs and then there are larger sizes. We have an occasional issue now, but it is maybe one or two times a month. I have also found when we have a peeing through problem, if I go up a size in whatever we are using it usually helps. Good luck! :) I know how frustrating this problem is... UGH!

We were having the same problem with our three-year-old, who has been using the potty consistently since the beginning of June. I bought the Underjams by Pampers, and we have had NO night time accidents since. I know they are expensive, but they work much better than diapers or pull-ups for us. The Underjams are designed for older and therefore, larger, children, and they work great over night.

Good luck.

nighttime training pants are the way to go. they go up to larger sizes and they hold lots more than a pullup. you will save money (even though they are a bit more expensive) because you only need ONE per night (we were going through two pullups EVERY night) and you won't have to do laundry as much. go for the nighttime training pants. we use generic, i think it's "white cloud" brand, and they are awesome. love them!

We honestly bought 1 pack of pull-ups for our son and realized they were glorified diapers. So, we stopped using them.

During the day, it was underwear. At night it was diapers. We occasionally still put a diaper on him despite being potty trained over a year. He's had less than 10 accidents, and we can't predict when they're going to happen. Of course, when we do put one of his sister's diapers on him, he's dry as a bone.

However, it can take kids a long time to master overnight dryness. We have friends whose daughters still wear pull-ups at 7 years-old. A lot depends on how hard they sleep and their ability to recognize a full bladder while sleeping.

Good luck! That's what happened with us - completely lucky with 1 kid - don't think it will strike again with the 2nd.

Get the ones for night time...more absorbent and I believe more fitted around the legs which should help. Also, limit his intake after a certain time (like nothing after about 1 hour before bed). That or get him up in the middle of the night (don't really wake him) but stand him in front of the potty (hold him up) and help him go before he wets the bed.

If it's just for night, I'd put him back in diapers. The point of pull-ups (if there is one) is that they are like underwear. You can't blame him for peeing at night, so it has to be okay. Since it's not okay to pee in underwear, put him in diapers so he is clear about the difference.

My first thought is "how close to bedtime does he have liquids". I know at 3 kiddos are still sleeping long hours during the night. You may need want to limit the amount of liquids he has 2 hours before he heads off to bed and make sure that he empties his bladder before going to sleep.
Another thought is that he is a very deep sleeper and does not wake up when he has the urge to pee during the night. I am not sure that you would want to start a habit of waking him up to have him go potty after he has gone to sleep, but it would not hurt to check on him when you go to bed and see when he is peeing. Is he peeing early in the night or is it closer to the time he is getting up in the morning? If you can narrow down the time, you may be able to wake him up then and let he empty his bladder then.
If he is waking up on his own and know that he needs to go, he may be afraid to get out of bed during the night by himself.

Yep, go with diapers-cheaper and hold better than the glorified, more expensive pull-ups. Nighttime dryness might not be achieved until age 5or 6 and that is perfectly normal so getting in a good routine now will save you frustration down the road with an older child who is still well within normal range for nighttime wetting. I never equated diapers and being a baby with my son so he had no problem wearing nighttime diapers for protection (as we called it) and to stay dry and comfy at night. You could even put undies on over the diaper if you think that would make him feel better about using a diaper.

Pull-ups are no good for nightime- stick either w/ Overnights diapers or Good Nights (depending on your child's weight).

Hi A.,
Our son is 3 1/2 and has been potty trained for the waking hours since February. I think that it is not until when they are a bit older that they are able to hold it through the night or wake up if they need to go. We just use a night time diaper for him rather than a pull up. Hope that helps!
