I actually just left North Arlington Pediatrics and switched to Arlington Pediatrics LTD http://www.arlingtonpediatrics.com/
I love all the doctors esp Dr. Santiago.
My husbands medical insurance just changed. My current pediatrician does not take our new insurance. Are you happy with your pediatrians? I am looking for a pediatric practice affiliated with Northwest Community Hospital or Good Shepherd Hospital. I am looking for pediatricians who are supportive of breastfeeding, and spend time with their patients. And of most importance, are medicallly competent. The best recommendtions are from other moms. Thanks

Dr. Mike Slavik.. he is out of nw community. His offices are in Buffalo Grove and Schaumburg. ###-###-####
I would highly recommend Medical Pediatrics. They have several Dr. - all are great, competent and very knowledgable. I use Dr. Perez because I have older teens - we have been there a long time. They are down the street from NW community. Phone: ###-###-#### or 1700 W. Central Road in Arlington Heights
We go to Pediatric Care in Barrington. It's the med. bldg. right in front of the hospital. They have times that you can go in and see the place and meet with Dr. Beckerman. There are several doctors in the practice and I feel very comfortable with all of them. The number is ###-###-#### I think.
Good Luck
We have been with Pediatric Specialists of the Northwest for 14 years. I love them all. Each of the doctors takes all the time you need, and are really good.
They have several offices, including Barrington & Crystal Lake.
Also, how is the world is there a doctor out there who wouldn't support breastfeeding?
North Arlington Pediatrics. We loved them, then moved & had to leave the practice.
My girls go to North Arlington Pediatrics....they are associated with NW Comm Hosp.
There are several docs there. My "favorites" (though all of them are great) are Drs Anderson, Peters, and Walicki. Dr Anderson is very sweet and a great listener. Dr Peters is great with the girls, puts them at ease, always doing something funny (my girls get scared easily at the drs office). And Dr Walicki is the closest to my age, has young children, and is very practical....I express a concern, what I've read about the concern, and she gives me great advice and even tells me what she does (or would do) with her own children.
www.northarlingtonpediatrics.net has their individual backgrounds and even pics of each dr.
Best of luck!
I agree with Angela G's post. I take my kids to North Arlington Pediatrics. The doctors she listed are great. Another great dr. there is Dr. Geleski. He's to the point and thorough and is genuine about his concern for your kids! We love Dr. Peters...He is like the actor Jim Cary and great sense of humor to make the kids dr. experience easier. Walsh and Anderson good doctors. Evening appointments, Saturday appointments, and same day sick appointments available. My daughter came down with an eye infection on Christmas day last year. Called their answering service. Prompt in getting back to me and calling in a perscription to a pharmacy that was open. We are happy there!
I take my kids to Pediatric Specialists. They are in Crystal Lake (they also have an office in Barrington) & affiliated with Good Shepherd. Our doctor is Dr. Wiess and we love him. There are a handful of doctors in the practice which I like because we can always get an appointment right away if you need to. They have walk-in sick hours in the morning and afternoon throughout the school year as well which is nice. They are also very good if you're out of town or at night/weekends and have a concern. You just leave a message with your name and number and a doctor will call you within the hour.
Their phone # is ###-###-####. You can do a web search to get more info or to look at their website.

I see lots of recommendations. One thing to consider - IF you needed to go to the ER, either with you driving or by ambulance - which hospital would you go? That was a deciding factor for us. We know our fire department would take us to Good Shepherd since we are in Lake County.
Make sure that whomever you select, that they practice where you will be taken. Also, make sure their office is close to your home. You don't want to be running all over or taking forever to get to a doctor when you have a sick or injured little kid.
Good luck!
Lakeshore Pediatrics is on the same grounds as Good Shepherd and they are wonderful. We have been with them for 4 years, and I am consistently happy with how caring and attentive these women are. Good luck!
I would highly recommend Dr. MichaelSlavik. He is a wonderful pediatrician, who my son adores. Even when he is sick, he cannot wait to see Dr. Mike. We just had a new baby and he has been awesome with everything. I have recommended him to 5 of my friends and they all love him. Dr. Mike is located right by Costco on Meacham Road. Good Luck!
My kids go to Pediatric Associates of Barrington and I love them. They have locations in Crystal Lake ###-###-####) and in Barrington ###-###-####). And they work out of Good Shepherd. The office in Barrington is actually next to the hospital. They now have 7 doctors in the practice and we have seen them all. When I schedule a wellness visit, I like to see the Nurse Practitioner Pat. She is also a lactation consultant and she really takes her time to explain everything in terms that make sense to me.
Good luck in your search.

We also go to Pediatric Specialists of the Northwest and have been very happy! We see Dr. Mary Collins and absolutely love her, but all the doctors are great!
