haha....this sounds like my post a few months ago! I am working through some insurance issues right now so I haven't started with one yet, but all of my research has pointed to Dr. Brooks. at Town Plaza Family Practice. We are a health minded, Non-vaxing family and from what I hear, he suits our needs perfectly.

Good luck with the search and let me know if you find any other good ones. ;)

Blessings!

When I lived out south I went to Dr. Scott Dattel with kansas city pediatrics. His practice is in the St. Joe Medical Mall next to the hospital. I loved them. I moved to Liberty and now go to another practice that I equally love but I think the drive would be too far for you.

GL in finding a new practice.

I left my pediatrician of 8 years when appointments couldn't take more than 10 minutes because money became more important than health care. I switched to Lee's Summit Physicians (they have a pediatric office). Their website is above. We are very happy with the entire office - front desk, nurses, doctors, etc. They have shown they will prescribe antibiotics when needed but they don't give them to kids at every sniffle like our previous doctor did.

Pediatric Associates on the Plaza (behind St. Luke's Hospital). They are a large pediatric group and have daily walk-in and weekend hours. I have been totally pleased with this group. My 3 yr old sees Dr. Woody, but I have also seen (via after hours care) Dr. Ely (who I really liked) and several others there. They are all fantastic and my daughter has done great with each of them. They also have an office in Lee's Summit, but the Plaza is the main place. I know MANY families who go to this group, and all of us have been very satisfied.

I really like Jackie Tenney. He has just opened a new office we haven't visited yet, so you'd have to look up Tenney Pediatrics on whitepages.com or google for the address and directions. I think it would be close to you. He has a lot of knowledge of infants all the way through teenagers and has raised three kids of his own. He doesn't hit the panic button as fast as a lot of docs, so I like his style. Good luck!

We go to Preferred Pediatrics in Lee's Summit and they're great. They have a sick child and well child waiting room, so the kids just getting checkups arent playing with the same toys as the kids with strep or whatever. And they've never had a problem getting us in, and my dd had chronic ear infections her first year. Here's a link to their website: http://www.preferredpediatrics-ls.com/main.html?src=%2F We see Dr. MacEntire and he's great.
