Hi L.! I went through this pretty recently too. When I was a child I had an AWESOME pediatric dentist, but he has retired. I searched a bunch for my son because at age 2 he needed some work done on a tooth that had a cavity when it came in. I live in Westmintser, but found a dentist in Auburn that has worked well with me. They have some toys and games in the lobby and the rooms have tvs above the beds, they let the kids pick out what to watch and such, that seems to help too! My son and I always "brush his monkey" out of his mouth (read the idea of saying animals were in his mouth in a magazine, thought it was silly but it works amazingly with my babe) and the dentist incorporated that into the treatment, then found a stuffed monkey for my son to take home to replace the one we removed. They also have all the treats and fun stuff the kids can pick through at the end. As for tramatizing her, they had me come back a second time because my son was so young and they do not want to do a procedure if they feel it will traumatize a child--those are there words to me. Our first visit they were running a bit late, but ended up being great with us and gave us coupons for free lunch at Papa Ginos. Overall I have been happy with them, though my son is not yet 3 so he has only been 3 times. I know there are reviews for the particular dentist on this site that some that didn't seem to be glowing, but that has not been my experience. One person said that they company was only out for money. I don't believe this to be true since the second visit we had, when they thought they were traumatizing my son they spent about 20 minutes with us and then didn't even charge me for the appointment because they didn't finish (no co-pay). Plus what business isn't out to make profit? All are, and I had a lot more issues with Dentists and money at Aspen dental, they literally stole money from me. His name is Bruce Fieldman, ####-###-####, google him and find many reviews of the business. Good luck, whereever you end up!!
