I am Looking for a down to earth caring Pediatic Dentist for my three Children. We had a wonderful Dentist for years but the Practice moved and it is to far East to travel to see them now. I'm currently on Ahcccs Health Care Insurance "Care 1st of AZ" any help or infomation would be really appreciated.

I would recommend Dr. Karen Teeters (6520 N 7th Ave Ste 3, Phoenix, AZ 85013 -- Ph: ###-###-####). We live in Goodyear and I don't mind a little drive to see her. She is a pediatric dentist and I don't know if she would be on the list for your insurer, but if so she's very gentle and kind. I previously went to a pediatric dentist closer to my house but his treatment of the kids was way too harsh for me. Good luck!

I take my four year old to "Your Family Dentist" on 83rd ave and Cactus. They are really nice there and my little one actually loves going. Im not sure if they take ahcccs but it wouldnt hurt to call and ask. The number is ###-###-####.

My children go to A+ Tender Dental Care in Surprise (15508 W Bell Rd Ste 110). Phone # ###-###-####. They are located on the corner of Greenway and Bell in the Fry's shopping plazza. They do accept AHCCCS Heath Care Insurance.
One of my boys is needing quite a bit of dental work done (4 teeth pulled and 3 crowns)and is Austic. They have referred him to Phoenix Pediatric Dental (6750 19th Ave., in Phoenix). Phone # ###-###-####. This office accepts the AHCCCS insurance. Our appointment is in August. I am not sure of their receptive attitude, but I have been assured on the phone that both my husband and I can sit with our son during his appointments.
I do have to say that the entire staff at A+ Tender Dental Care are wonderful. All three of our boys (ages 14, 12 and 10) are special needs children. They even allowed us to schedule two of the three boys on the same day. Not many physicians/dentists will do this. The entire office has treated all of them with the utmost kindness and respect. They also allow parents to sit with the child during treatments.
I have learned that some dental offices in Arizona don't allow parents to sit with their child during treatments (Little Smiles in El Mirage is one of these offices, although they do accept the AHCCCS insurance). If you have specific questions or concerns voice them before scheduling an appointment. Good Luck!
