Good Morning!
Hi ladies- since all of you always have great advice. I need to find a dentist for my daughters - I have insurance (United Healthcare hmo) but as you know that sometimes it doesn't matter, they do not have a lot to show from on their plan- Pediatric dentist (Pedodontics) listed other than one with Monarch and i'm really trying to stay away from them. So, i figured if i can find a good dentist i will just go ahead and full price and not use insurance since my insurance is worthless.

I thought it was just me. I dont care for Monarch either. The one time I took my daughter the office staff was not friendly (to put it mildly) and we waited for approximately 45 minutes before we walked out after filling out the new patient sheet. No one every gave me a status as far as how long the wait would take, etc.
I am trying to find a good pediatric dentist in the Keller area.

Hi M., I have taken my children to Hyde, Bailey and Miller for the past several years and have been very pleased. They have several offices that include 2 in
Arlington. My kids have CHIPS so I don't know how it works with regular insurance. Years ago, we went to a dentist here in Arlington that wanted to schedule surgery to have do fillings! I thought that was absurd so I looked and asked around (I didn't want my kids going under anethesia for a tooth filling!!). Hyde, Baily and Miller do the fillings, as well as cleanings and other minor things, in their office. And the best part, the kids go back to see the dentist without mom! I think that eliminates a lot of anxiety on the kids parts and they feel very grown up seeing the dentist without mom. Hope this helps.

My family has UHC hmo as well and all we have listed is Monarch to. You are making a great decision to go ahead and go outside the plan. We made a similar decision in Nov. 07 and have no regrets. The first Ped. dentist gave us a great plan and then the second person we saw was from Monarch and their recommendation was to do nothing for a year or so. That did not go over so well with us so we sought out a third opinion. The third opinion was closer to the first one who is not on our plan. My daughter now has a beautiful smile and I am glad that we are moving in the right direction to head off any future problems by treating her now. I am sure that our Ped. Dentist DR. We LOVE Michelle Lindsay! She is a mom of two young kids, so she definitly understands them and can totally relate as she is dealing with the same things right now.
Her office is really kid friendly and the kids get a prize bag before they get started. Bubbles and stickers and a toothbrush. It is a great way to distract while you are there!

My family uses Dr. Bryan Bishop on new York Avenue in Arlington Texas. He is great with children and I have never had any problems. I have had experiences where dentist do unnecessary work and xrays for the money. You can be assured that Dr. Bishop only does what is necessary. My family has been very pleased with his work. He took over his father's practice when he retired. He is a great dentist, especially with my 10 and 16 year old boys.
I have heard that alot of people who do not have dental insurance go to Perla Dental in Arlington , Texas. I am not too sure of the number and exact address just that it is off 360 and Abrams I believe. For a cleaning is around $75.00 and $35.00 for a visit, etc. I went there about two years ago and I found the people to be extremely friendly .
I just took my 3 year old daughter to a great peditric dentist in South Arlington off Little Rd. Drs. Hyde, Bailey, and Miller. ###-###-####. They treat babies through adolescents. The staff was very friendly, they were very quick, and were great with children. You can do a virtual tour of their ____@____.com. I don't have insurance-the first visit was about $165. With X-rays it's $219. I suggest you give them a call and check out their website.
