K.K.
Tim Brister for sure. He apparently does great with children with more intense needs as well. I would at least check there.
Hi All,
I am looking for an awesome Pediatric Dentist in the area that accepts insurance. Not just an office that will file the claim as a courtesty. We have a special needs child who already costs a lot and I can't afford to keep paying out of pocket to Pediatric Dentists who don't want to be "in-network". I have Aetna if that helps.
Thanks!
H.

We love Dr. Tim Brister at Texas Pediatric Dentistry in Frisco. His office is off of Custer between 121 and Eldorado Parkway. I don't know if he takes your insurance but it is worth a shot!
Unfortunately, dentists are either in-network or out-of-network. Just like any medical provider, when it comes to insurance. Providers often take a "negotiated rate" meaning they get paid less for their subscribers. That's why many providers don't "want" to be in the network.
You can try approaching your insurnace carrier, Aetna, and asking for help with requesting an out-of-network referral/authorization. Some carriers will grant it if you can prove there are no network providers within a certain mile radius.
I'm not going to mention any names, but there is a large carrier that sells dental in my area and there are only about 3 dentists in the entire county that accept it.
Certain things like preventative are covered the same in and out of network sometimes, but other procedures....not so much.
Check with your insurance carrier.
I hope you get some great advice from someone closer to you.
Best wishes.
Have you went online to Aetna and set up an online account? You should be able to get a list of Offices and Dentist in your area that accept Aetna.
