I'm looking for a pediatric dentist for my daughter who is almost 2. We live in Santa Monica. We have Guardian Dental insurance. Any commoents, good or bad, on any of these dentists would be greatly appreciated (or any other pediatric dentist that you totally love). Thanks!
Hi. My sister-n-law is a dentist. When I needed a pediatric dentist she said to call as many orthodontists as I could in my area to see who they recommend. I ended up calling about 6 orthodontists. They all recommended the same guy with only 1 of the orthodontists recommending someone different. My daughter had her appointment and really liked the pediatric dentist & assistants.

Dr. Mark Goldenberg (www.beverlyhillspediatricdentistry.com) was my dentist in the mid-late 1980's, and I remember liking him. I think Darrin Hirt shares a practice with him, although I'm not familiar with Darrin. If I still lived in the LA area, I'd definitely bring my 3 yr old to their practice.

I just took my 3 year old to the dentist for the first time and we went to Darrin Hirt. He is great. My son started crying and I really didn't think he was going to calm down enough to be able to get his teeth cleaned. But Dr. Hirt and his assistant were so patient with my son, taking time to explain what was going to happen and showing him how the polisher spins around, letting him feel it on his finger nail first so he would know it doesn't hurt. And he got to choose a prize at the end. Also, making the appointment was easy - I think we got in the week I called. And we didn't have to wait forever when we got there, I think we were in the waiting room for less than 5 minutes. Everything about our experience was positive, so I would definitely recommend Dr. Hirt.
We see Dr. Emily at Sawtelle Family Dental. (It's her practice, she's the only one there.) We ADORE her! She's right next to Yogurtland on Sawtelle, just north of Olympic. I'm not sure what insurances she takes but you should definitely call her. The number is ###-###-####. (My husband and I both go to her too, in addition to our 3yr old son and we all love her.)
