Absolutely Dr. Laird Sr. or Jr. My husband has seen Dr. Laird Sr. since he was 14 years old and he continues to go to him even though he is an adult. We love him and think he is a wonderful Dr. Good luck.
Hello mamas,
The doctor is concerned about my son's heart murmur, and wants an echocardiogram done. She referred me to a pediatric cardiologist, but they cannot work him in until September 4, and that's a long time for my little guy to wait (he tends to worry). Does anyone have any personal experience with any pediatric cardiologists in the Dallas area? We're up in McKinney, but are willing to go just about anywhere to get to someone good.
Thanks!
Thank you, Mamas, for all of your responses. My family practioner recommended Dr. Laird; it's good to see there are so many mamas who agree. My son is scheduled for an echocardiogram on September 4; please think of us in your prayers that this is just a 'normal' murmur.

We have used Dr. Kao since before our twins were born....and they are 5. One was born with a murmur and had Angioplasty done when she was 9 mo old.....not by Dr. Kao but by another surgeon at Cook Children's in FW. Dr. Kao was brought in to consult with us when the girls were still in utero and we have been with her ever since. She is in Dallas.
You want to go to Dr Damaris Wright. She's been seeing our 7-yr-old daughter since she was 15 months for the same problem. Wonderful, sweet lady...we just love her! She sees patients at Presby Dallas and Presby Plano and also once a month at an office in Allen. Her phone # is ###-###-####.
I would also strongly recommend Dr.W. Pennock Laird,he was a wonderful Dr. and really took the time to explain our situation to us. The office phone number is ###-###-####. Both me and my son saw him.
I would like to also let you know that Dr. Damarus Wright is in the middle of a big medical malpractice lawsuit right now and I would highly discourge against seeing her, I personally saw her also, I went to Dr. Laird for a second opinion and it was a good thing I did!
Dr. Andy Fryer at Medical City is suppose to be great.
I live in McKinney also and just took my son to a pediatric cardiologist a few weeks ago. They came highly recommended from my pediatrician who also has used them with her daughters. Dr. Laird, it is a father, son, and I think either daughter or mother. She said they were all wonderful, we saw the son. They have an office in Plano and one at Childrens Hospital we were able to get in within 2 weeks being flexible to either location and doctor. Please feel free to e-mail me with any further questions ____@____.com.
I cannot say enough good things about Pediatric Heart Specialists and Dr. Riddle. (Her partner is Dr. Laird and he is good as well.)
My son was in the hospital (Medical City Dallas) for over a week when he was 10 weeks old for a heart condition and they were AMAZING. We see them every three months of more and I call her all the time and to this day I sometimes tell her how wonderful she is and tear up just talking about it.
They are SO smart about children's hearts and so kind and compassionate and patient. Seriously, they are wonderful. She has been with us during emergency situations as well as regular office visits and has always been a true hero for our son.
They also have sattelite offices in Plano so you do'nt have to drive all the way down to MCD.
Their number is ###-###-####. Good luck!
I was also referred to Dr Laird for my 16month old daughter when she had a heart murmur. She was awesome. She has a great bedside manner and is great with kids. My daughter's murmur ended up being an innocent murmur. Good Luck. I know that your child will be in great hands.
