in the year 2003 i took tablets to terminate my pregnancy ( no procedure was done) but i got bleeding for more than 20 days. i consulted a doctor she prescribed some tablet to stop my bleeding then things went normal. may be after a year i started getting periods at an interval of 15 days, they did some blood tests and said iam having the symptoms of pcod. now i wish to become pregnant we were trying for the past 3 months but we couldnt. iam scared whether something would happen to my fallopian tubes during that termination. even today sometimes whenever so stressed i start bleeding. what should do to become pregnant.

What can I do next?

Good luck and hopefully a fertility doctor will help you. Also, you might see a chiropractor. I have heard many people have success with chiropractors and fertility problems. Also, ignore those judgemental crazy people. They were not in your shoes and having your issues when you made your decision. Don't let them get you down. I don't personally beleive that a life was taken that early in a pregnancy.

Please don't think that a terminated pregnancy 6 years ago has anything to do with your challenges currently. Polycystic ovarian syndrome is treatable if you are committed to making some lifestyle changes. First, I recommend following your doctors treatment plan. He might recommend a laproscopy procedure to clear up some ovarian cysts. I just had this done and it was largely simple and painless.

Then, he might recommend some dietary changes to address the insulin resistance associated with pcos. Avoid eating and drinking sugar and do some regular weight lifting. This can do much to reverse this disease.

In addition, some drugs like metaformin can help get your cycle and hormones back to normal. Avoid hormonal birth control pills because they aggravate insulin resistance and further damage your ovaries.

This disease can cause some torsion of the fallopian tubes but the laproscopy can straighten them out. There is a book called "Taking Charge of Your Fertility" that will help.

It can sometimes take a good six months to get your body ready for pregnancy so stay focused, take care of your body and educate yourself about the condition.

Dear E.-

My heart goes out to you. I truly believe that you have a lot of emotions for decisions you made in the past. We all do things that we later regret and the hardest thing is to forgive ourselves. I encourage you to find a good trusted counselor who can help you. I also recommend making the necessary dietary and exercise changes that another reader suggested as well as seeking out a doctor that is knowledgeable about pcod. You said that you have been trying to get pregnant for 3 months now. Try not to get stressed. You are only fertile for approximately 24 hours every month. From what I have read about Natural Family Planning If you start counting the day you start your period is day one you should be fertile somewhere around days 12-15. You will have a lot of clear, snotlike, discharge and a slight increase in body temperature. It is during this time that you should be most likely to become pregnant. Take care and try not to be so hard on yourself. God is a loving God.
