So What Happened?

- Pearls (okay, I know, I know, these aren't rocks)

- Emeralds (I looooove my birthstone! They look black next to the skin, crazy gorgeous green in the light. And Ems are ALL flawed.)

- Diamonds (Canadian in particular, for the blue undertone. Also old -badly cut- diamonds.)

- Fire Opals

- Lapis Lazuli

My grandparents are jewelers and I have a geology degree, so I love ALL pretty rocks!!
My favorites are stones that come in lots of different colors, so you can find unusual colors or unique combinations. I love natural diamond crystals (uncut with octahedral shape), garnets in every color (orange, deep green, purples), sphalerite in burgundy, sapphires in deep ocean blue-green, tourmaline with rainbows of color, fluorite in green and purple bands, celestite in shimmery powder blue, lepidolite like lavender fish scales...love love love!!!
One of my favorite pieces of jewelry has a slice of a meteorite. I love wearing something that was formed at the same time as the birth of our solar system! A little physical connection to the infinite :)

I LOVE emeralds. I also really like peridot. (I love green!) Sapphires and amethyst are also very pretty. I don't care for diamonds, but I do love my engagement ring. pretty much the only diamond ring I have ever liked!

pearls and sapphires. Well, and aquamarines.
I wear my pearls always---stopped changing my earrings out to match my outfit a long, long time ago... pearls go with everything. My 11 yr old daughter sticks with her pearls mostly, too. :)

Sapphire is my birthstone. I have a beautiful sapphire and diamond pendant necklace that my aunt gave to me. She did not have any children, and we share our birth month. She sent it to my mom to give to me, and when I was miserable with non-stop nausea with my 2nd pregnancy, she presented it to me. Really added to the sentimental value.
I only stopped wearing that every single day, because my husband got me a Mother's Day necklace with a floating heart and the kids' birthstones. I get lots of compliments on it. But the stones are not really my favorites.

Aquamarine. It is my birthstone plus I have always thought it was beautiful.

I am really not big into jewelry but what I have tends to have Aquamarines in them. Well my wedding ring is all diamonds but I am traditional like that. :) Wana know how much it costs??!! :p I kid I kid!!

I'm not real into pearls.

I am sooooo not a jewelry person. That being said, I find diamonds to be the most beautiful stones. My birthstone is Ruby...hate it.

Amethyst, Sapphire, Obsidian can be mesmerizing if it's cut into an interesting stone, I have a heart shaped Malachite set in a silver heart shaped setting (it looks especially gorgeous on dark solid black), I cut a cabochon from a really pretty Jasper, and Rhodocrosite is really pretty but I don't own any pieces using it and I haven't cut any myself.
