Party Supply Storage

Hi party planning moms. I love to host parties but I find that with each party I end up acquiring a new serving dish, bucket or decoration of some sort and this stuff is starting to take over my kitchen cabinets. I am trying to come up with a way to store and organize those things that really only come out a few times a year for parties. In texas summers I don't think the attic or garage is really a safe place so I am just trying to come up with an organized, functional storage idea. Anyone do anything that works well for them? Would love your suggestions. Thanks.

What can I do next?

I use the big clear plastic bins to store party/theme/holiday stuff and then label the top and side of the box so I know what is inside. I do store them in the attic, but I do not keep any candles or stuff that may melt in them.

You could try those flat storage bins that fit under your bed, depending on how big your party stuff is. And depending on how big your bed is, you could probably fit 3 or 4 of them underneath.

I am in Dallas as well. We are the party family and have a lot of stuff too!I keep my party supplies in the garage...and nothing has been damaged! But we did put radiant barrier on our garage doors many years ago. I have bought several storage bins over the years....and used permanent marker to write on the outside of the bins. I liked the way it looked then...you couldn't see the mess inside. But now I am buying the sterilite opaque bins with the attached white lids (which fold together...Walmart $6.77). I don't have to label the outside, I can see what is in the bin and I am not stuck with the permanent marker later if I want to re-use the bin. I bought sturdy black shelves that line one wall of my garage. The bins fit great and don't look bad, even though you can see through them! I also bought the shelves that install over the cars and I keep our seasonal decorations up there. I do still have the occasional item (punch bowl) or appliance (bread maker) that is in the original box that is kept on the shelves. Still neater than it was when I first moved in!!!! Good luck!

I totally understand this situation. We do totes on the shelf in the garage as well and add a label to the outside to distinguish what theme is inside. The only other thing I have to add to what the wonderful ladies have mentioned is that I store mine from left to right in order of the Event/Holiday/Occasion.

Have a great week!

I myself LOVE hosting get togethers and parties too! And I do the samething! What I do is I have a huge walk in closet in my basement and I use it for storage, I had my husband put some shelve's in it and I placed all the "party" dishware on them, as for the party decor I purchased those huge plastic sterilite containers and I have all the decor in them. I just had my daughter's 12th b-day and yet still went out and purchased soo much party decor. I guess you can never have too much! lol!
