Hi moms,
I just wanted to know if any moms are working professionally but part time. I am looking into banking, accounting, finance, (business related). I want to work professionally but part time. So far, no luck and I thought if any moms on here and could provide the names of the companies.
Thanks
Hi M. M,
Something I read last week told of how many jobs that will be safe will be in healthcare and education. Maybe a local college or hospital will have openings.
My life-coach was an accountant at one time. He was happy with it but just unfulfilled and a little stressed with the long hours. So, he chose a different route and has been so successful at it. I appreciate his willingness to coach me so that I too can succeed. If you wish to learn what he is teaching me you can contact me at 877.399.8889 or ____@____.com What I'm learning is leadership skills that will span a lifetime. Contact me if you would like further information.
Best wishes,
K.
Hello!
I know exactly what you are going through. I was layed off after returning from maternity leave about a year ago. Thankfully, I had my part-time business. I applied to numerous companies, but EVERYONE is doing the same. So I decided to make my part-time business into full-time.
I'm a mother to a 4 year old and an 1 year old (both girls). I love staying home with them and having the opportunity to work as little or as much as I like.
I am a Pampered Chef Consultant. I started with them back in August 2007 when I was 7 months pregnant. There's nothing to it. The products sell it's self and you have FUN in the process. Consultants make around $100 per show (about 2 hours). The Pampered Chef is a great company with great people to help you achieve your dreams. You'll never have to worry about meeting a high sales quota or getting fired.
Let me know if this is something you may be interested in. I would love to have you on my team!
Good Luck!

I work part time. I have my masters in Special Education and teach elementary special ed to k-2nd graders, 3 and a half hours a day. I also teach one class a semester at a local university.
I absolutely love it!!!
Just look around, don't get discouraged and maybe think outside the three areas you mentioned above, where you will still be able to use your talents.
Good Luck,
K.
When I was ready to go back to the real world, I needed a part-time job with flexibility. I ended up doing temp work with Accountemps. It was great because I let them know about my situation and they were able to find 2 temp assignments for me when I needed the flexibility. I would look into temping if I needed to get back into the job market and needed part-time hours and flexiblity.
Right now I'm devoting most of my time to my Dove Chocolate business and it's working out great. You do have flexibility in direct sales, are you going to make a ton of money? Probably not. Can you make a decent part-time income? Definitely, but it is work, it is selling, and you do need to put effort into it. If you do that, you will succeed.
Would you consider anything not business related? I am hiring professionals who want to be their own bosses and work on their own schedule. The right person will have the ability to become a franchizee in our growing business but it is not financial. It is working with youngsters. It is very turn key, no evenings or weekends, and not as expensive as most franchizes.
