Hi Moms,
For those of you who live around the San Jose area, can you recommend a good park? I have a 6 yr old son and we're meeting up with a family that has a 14mo old. We just need a nice grassy area and a playground. I don't know SJ at all (coming from PHill). Thanks for your help!
A.

Almaden Lake Park off Coleman Ave in San Jose/Blossom Hill area is good also.

There is a small beach at the lake which is open after Memorial Day. Boats and a giant park with huge playground and water sprinklers to run through.

Plenty of trails to ride or walk too.

There is a small park on the other side of the lake with playground also.

Park on the Almaden Expressway side for the "beach" and big playground.
You can park on the other side too -but then have to walk over the bridge to get to the rest of it.

Hope this helps!

Have a couple of places in Los Gatos, right next to SJ depending on which area of SJ you are in. Bel Gatos Park is awsome and also Vasona/Oak Meadow. Both are great!

We just went to Lincoln Glen park this weekend and it's awesome! It has a picnic area, 2 playgrounds (one for 2-5 and one for 5-12) and a water feature in the middle.

I was going to suggest Lincoln Glen park as well because of the two playgrounds and water feature!!

Don't know what part of San Jose you need but Cataldi Park off Morrill Ave between Hostetter and Capitol Ave has 2 play areas, huge grass areas and lots of trees for shade. Have fun.
