My youngest son's 1st birthday is next month & I'm looking at having it at a park. There will be kids of all ages at the party, so looking for a park that will accommodate small & big kids. I would like to find one that has a pavilion or tables too.

Does anyone know where a good one is? I'm looking at either Carrollton, Plano, Richardson, Addison or North Dallas areas (to be centrally located for friends & family).

Thanks moms! :-)

So What Happened?

We picked a park in Plano (Archgate Park). We had lots of fun!

There is a new sports complex/park that is located on 121 and Carrollton Pkwy. It is off the 121 service road. They are owned by First Baptist Church of Carrollton. I think the website is www.fbcc.com. They have a great park with two sets of play equipment and they also have an area that will be for a splash park. There is a large pavilion with picnic tables. I believe if you want the entire pavilion it is 100 per hr but they will section it into 4 and you can rent 1 or 2 sections for 25 each per hour. Each section contains 4 or 5 tables. I am looking into this park for my sons 1st birthday party in June. Good luck!!

not sure if TX is like CA area parks where someone has to be a resident of the town in order to reserve the rec room/tables/etc.

We have had several birthdays at Arbor Hills Nature Preserve in Plano. They have pavilions and a large playground area for different age groups.

There's a park in Addison across from the fire station. Our neighbors had a birthday party there. First they toured the fire station (apparently free, but they welcome donations) and then they had pizza and cake across the street at the park. It was really nice. There was a covered picnic area with tables too.

There's also a smaller but quaint park at Forest & Rosser (one block west of Midway) called Glen Cove. They have a really cute gazeebo there. Our neighborhood association always has a Halloween party there.

The City of Carrollton website has a good table about all their parks and the amenities each one has. Mary Heads Carter park has all that.
