I've had no issues at all. My daughter is 3 months...been using them and she has not had a rash at all. I used Pampers with my first daughter as well and I love them.
Is anyone else having rash issues with the Pampers dry max? I am 8 mnths pregnant and have bought a few of the Pampers Swaddlers dry max boxes but heard just last night on the news that the issues with the bad diaper rash is still a problem with many parents. I thought everything had been fixed so just curious to know who still uses these diapers, if your baby had any diaper rashes from them and if I should return my boxes or not.
Thanks so much for your help.

Hello! We've used Pampers since my son was born. I never had issues with a rash until just recently with the dry max. My son has always had sensitive skin. We wash with california baby shampoo because it has no fragrances, all lotions have to be fragrance free too. I'm hoping he will grow out of it but we did notice a rash when we used the dry maxx. We started buying the organic diapers and now have moved on to Pampers Easy Up's with no skin problems!!
This article may help - I haven't read the other answers, but it was posted to a friend's Facebook page this morning.
The consumer protection service found no link between DryMax and rash. http://blogs.babble.com/strollerderby/2010/09/02/cpsc-fou...
Though I liked Pampers when our children were born, we've become Huggies fans (mainly due to availability at Costco/Same's Club) and have had no issues with rashes, etc. through either child. Our daughter is still in them
I got a sample in the mail of the "new" pampers. And I had only used about 3-4 of the diapers on my daughter and she did get rash!!! I stopped immedietly and after hearing about all the claims, and rashes that babies were/are getting, I stopped buying pampers!
Before you return them, write an email to pampers and ask them what sizes have the dry max and what sizes dont. I had emailed them about 5 months ago but i dont remember what sizes(I know for sure size 1&2 dont have the dry max) So you might be able to get away with using pampers after your baby is first born. I know i really liked pampers, they worked great. But after all the stuff that came out with the new ones, it just isnt worth the risk! I switched to huggies, and they work just great!
Good luck!
I haven't used them since my son broke out in a rash at his nap time. The was about 8 months ago. We were using diapers at nap time and bed time while potty training him and the first time we used a dry max diaper he broke out bad. I too did buy a box of dry max for our expected newborn without even realizing it. I took it back and I've decided to buy the Pampers Sensitive Diapers instead of the dry max just becuase I know how sensitive my son was to them. I love the swaddlers, but don't want to end up with several boxes of diapers I can't use. If they've made a change, that's good. If not, I would try one and see how it goes. Good Luck.
Drymax has not given my 7 mon old any rashes. I used disposables the first month. Now we use various brands, including Pampers dry max and Luvs, when our cloth diapers are drying.
My daughter is 18wks and has not had a single problem. We are a pampers family so I was a little worried when I heard about the problems. I am happy to report, no issues :). We marked the Drymax diapers for awhile when she was wearing them to make sure that if she had a problem we new that she was in a dry max or not. I had my newborn were regular but my size ones were drymax. I did have on pack that I got as a gift that was size one but not drymax. That's why we marked them to tell the difference. I delivered at Plano presby, they were using pampers and had not had any problems at the time.
I still use them, but don't like them nearly as much as the older Pampers. My second son (16 months) never had diaper rash until these came out, and now he's had some mild rash a couple times. I'm still using them, though, because the problem has been mild and I'm not sure what would be better. For my first son, Pampers (old version) was by far superior for not giving him diaper rash. Both of my children have very sensitive skin. I'm not sure the diapers would be a problem for most kids.
Our baby is 14 months and we have always used Pampers. The Dry Max came out several months ago, and we've had no problems.
It didn't matter Pampers or Huggies, my son still got a horrible rash. It just comes and goes as quickly as it came. I think it will just depend on your child's little bottom.
Only diaper that ever gave my son a rash! I won't even buy them now with a coupon!
I'm at the same point you are. 7 months pregnant, I LOVE Swaddler's, but couldn't find any w/o Dry Max. Ugh.
There was an article in yesterday's Dallas Morning News. They said findings are not related to the gel in the Dry Max and the rash. I have always used them and have had no issues.
Good luck.

Wow, I must have been living under a rock. I'm usually on top of things. I hadn't heard this about Dry Max, but just bought my first box a few weeks ago & my (not-sensitive skinned) 2 year old daughter has had several diaper rashes since then. Thanks for the scoop. Back to good old Huggies! For what it's worth, I pesonally was not a fan of the Swaddlers even before dry-max came out. We had A LOT of blow-outs with swaddlers but not with huggies. I've tried most of the brands out there including generic & Huggies are my fave. Luvs aren't bad either, but Huggies seem to keep her skin dryer & hold everything in better! I say try a variety to find what works for you & your little one-- just save the receipts if you can. Congrats & good luck!
We've been using Pampers Dry Max Cruisers for my 8 month old boy and we've never had any issues with it. I like the fact that it is not bulky and fits my little one's bottom well.
IMO, the whole issue was blown out of proportion by a few cases of diaper rash. We loved the Swaddlers as well but that was before the Dry Max came out. However, I would suggest that you buy an individual pack and try on your little one before you open a big box or return everything.
My son is 2 years old, so not an infant, but I haven't had any problems with the dry max since they came out. Hope this helps!
I have been using the dry max diapers on two of my boys, ages 3 and 11 months, and neither one has ever had a rash. I remember reading something about the problems that parents were having with these diapers and the majority of the affected children were little girls. I think I read about it here on Mamapedia so you might want look up past questions about dry max.
I too thought I would stay away from these diapers when I started seeing hate groups popping up against Pampers, and then I realized I was already using them! LOL! My mom had purchased a box to keep at her house and had sent me home with half and I hadn't noticed.
I have another one on the way too and I am going to start him on a sensitive diaper first like I always have.
Good luck and congratulations on your little one!
Don't buy them. They are bad news. My son got a HORRIBLE diaper rash from this-- my dr called it a chemical burn~ Return the diapers and go with something less harsh to baby's bottom--a natural diaper-chlorine free etc. Good luck!
