So What Happened?

I got scanned this morning, and everything looks good! It must be the baby bumping up against the ribs causing the pain. Thanks for the responses!

I had the same thing with my daughter when I was pregnant with her. It seemed to start about the same time, 7 months. (She was a much bigger baby than my son) I can't rememeber the medical term, but basically, according to my Ob, the tendons and cartilidge between your ribs are being stretched. I felt as if she was trying to climb up under them, and it helped to straighten my back and "push" her back down.

It was particularly bad if I was sitting in my office chair for too long. Also, while sleeping, I got a wedge pillow which helped support the belly so the weight wouldn't pull on my ribs so much.

Iif you work, take lots of breaks from your desk and just walk around. Check your posture and sit up straight. I did yoga during my pregnancy with her and I always felt better after a relaxing workout.

The good news is, it was immediately gone after birth! Good luck!

Oh sweetie...I hate to tell you, but that is EXACTLY what happened to me and I just assumed that it was from the baby, but it wasn't. I lept having pains after my first baby was born and attribute dit to my body readjusting after the c-section until one night I just couldn't take it anymore and ended up in the ER. I had to have emergency surgery exactly 1 month to the day after delivering my first born to remove my gull bladder which was severely infected. I had no idea how common it is for women to have gull bladder issues with pregnancy...they say that it is common for fair, fertile females. I would talk to your OB...they diagnose it through sonogram so I would make sure that they check it out. Then you will know how bad it is. GOod luck and keep us posted! If you need an encouraging word, PM me. I know how insanely uncomfortable it can be!

I once woke up with a pain that felt like a pulled muscle. My husband was very upset with me and said I was not taking good care of myself while pregnant and I swore I had done nothing that would cause a pulled muscle. I went to my regular checkup and discussed it with the doctor and he laughed and explained that my daughter had been hitting her head against my rib and had bruised the mucsle. Of course, I was a high risk pregnancy and they had to take high level sonograms all the time so they could see where she was positioned. May not be the same thing with you; you should check with your doctor. But if it is where the baby has been kicking, she may have just bruised the muscle around your rib. Took several weeks to clear up. My husband had to eat a little crow. :)

I'm due on 9/3, so I think I'm about as far along as you are. I am having similar pains. My son wants more room. He's not getting it. :) My daughter was the same way. You can definitely ask your doctor though just in case.
